Of course Obama betrayed his promises.
First, he's a politician. Secondly, he's a Trilateral politician.
It was evident from the moment he stood, or rather from the moment his campaign donors and his Trilat "advisers" were revealed.
You don't get to be president if you intend to represent the wishes of the people who elected you. You get to be president if you promise to pay the negotiated debts owed to your campaign donors (Obama's biggest donors were Uni of California, Goldman Sachs, Harvard, Microsoft, Google, Citigroup, JP MorganChase, Time Warner... see sponsors) and intend to ignore the wishes of the people who elected you. They are meaningless in the scheme of things.
If you understand what politicians are, you'll never be surprized by how they act - which is always according to their natures.

The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.
