Film: Informant - sounds interesting - anyone seen it?!
#3
Connie Smith Wrote:Hadn't heard of this film, Peter, but just yesterday happened to read James W. Douglass' essay* about the murder of Malcolm X and was reminded that infiltration of groups/organizations the FBI deems "subversive" is a decades-old tactic, often practiced in conjunction with local law enforcement (-in this instance, the NYPD teamed up with Hoover's boys to spy on and create division within the Nation of Islam).

Perhaps Brandon Darby's story is not so much one of a "radical" turning informant but the other way round, deliberately, as proved to be the case with ranking NOI member John X Ali? This film's trailer barely hints at Brandon having another identity, so one hopes that Jamie Meltzer mined Brandon's past and was able to prove, conclusively, just who/what Brandon is, since his seeming about-face is -and always has been- a cornerstone of deep politics.

Yes, I'm well aware of what the FBI and NYPD did re: Malcolm X. Thanks for pointing it out as an example of how our morality free and lawless State acts against anyone who has a different idea or tries to change the society for the better - they are always perceived as a threat that must be 'eliminated'. TPTB are very happy with America as it is and where it is going. I, and many of the People do NOT!...but we are the internal foe in their idea. MLK was dealt with, RFK, JFK, and the list is verrrrrrrrry long - politicians, activists, leaders, dreamers, journalists, union organizers, peace makers, environmentalists, et al. Those not killed are often imprisoned or otherwise crippled from action.
It is a very sad history and legacy. America is NOT the shining light on the hill. Sadly, it seems determined not to change, at least not for the better. We the People have no choice but to expose the past and change the future.
