Question about Mae Brussel and pre-internet CT information exchange
#12
Oswald attended the Powers trial, and Walt Brown noted that a crowd pic of the trial audience in an earlier book on the incident appears to have Oswald in it.

Walt Brown's theory - argued in detail in Brown's ebook on the shootdown (linked below) - is that Oswald was sent to Russia as a prepared patsy to take the blame for an eventual U2 crash - 'he was a Communist, he was at Atsugi' etc etc - but his part became untenable when Powers survived the event and began giving awkward details to his interrogators. Shortly after this Oswald, perhaps smelling a rat, bought a hunting rifle for protection and began agitating to return to the US. Thereafter, Dulles and co were left with an unused patsy who could now be unknowingly put forth for other uses.
