I appears to me that you are excusing the contradiction because you
do not know any better personally. I take it there are multiple sources
that support the alleged connection between Dutz Murret and Marcello.

Judyth reports that Lee knew Marcello personally. Would you at least
grant that, if the alleged connection between Dutz Murret and Marcello
did exist, then there was "a connection" between Lee and the mafia?

How did LHO learn of these mafia "free phones"?

Why would LHO have been given access to mafia "free phones" to make long distance love calls? That's not helping the Mob to make money.

I believe LHO's step father was involved in the mob numbers racket in New Orleans, which was 'somehow' linked to the mob heirarchy in Dallas... FWIW

David...John Pic was an insurance man. Ed Ekdahl was an electrical
engineer. Those were LHO's only step-fathers, and both marriages
were brief. I know of no mafia connections. Perhaps you are thinking
of Dutz Murret, who I think was an uncle. He was "reputed" to have
a connection to Marcello. His daughter Dorothea, if my memory is
correct, was in the CIA, and had contact with LHO in Japan. She would
be LHO's cousin, I think.
