Frank Sturgis was murdered? Wow! That’s news to me. I looked it up:
“In an obituary published December 5, 1993, the New York Times quoted Sturgis' lawyer, Ellis Rubin, as saying that Sturgis died of cancer a week after he was admitted to a veterans hospital in Miami, five days shy of his 69th birthday. It was reported that doctors diagnosed lung cancer that had spread to his kidneys, and that he was survived by a wife, Jan, and a daughter.”
And if Sturgis was one of the tramps, I am an uncle. Frank had a jaw line and chin that were unmistakable. Perhaps side-on he looked somewhat like the tall tramp, but not from in front.

Ya that jumped out at me too B. "Murdered". LIkely was. And I have always believed the Hunt look alike to BE Hunt. I have looked at the other pics but since the mid 70's I have maintained it is Hunt.
The author is in error re Lansdale. Prouty id'd Lansdale as the man with his back turned to the camera, not one of the three tramps. I admit Holt bears a strong resemblance as well and the book that introduces Holt and Charles Rogers is very compelling. (The Man on the Grassy Knoll by John R Craig and Philip A Rogers).
