Magda at 200 resonates with my thinking:
The truth about the Syrian rebels could hardly be more different to the portrayal they receive from incompetent Western politicians and media. Far from being freedom fighters and frightened civilians they are ruthless heavily armed Jihadists known to have carried out thousands of murderous atrocities and terrorist attacks.
Their objectives are completely contrary to those attributed to them by the West. Rather than seeking to bring about democracy in Syria they are attempting to create a primitive seventh century Islamist Sharia state the realisation of which involves slaughtering anyone who objects.
In the next four weeks it is entirely possible there will be a Syrian dog of war being wagged.
I have seen the so-called Arab Spring as a replacement of tyrannical secular regimes with Islamist ones of the type Magda references in the second of the two paragraphs cited above.
Is this a destablilization/radicalization brought about to benefit a power base in Saudi or Iran.
The Erdogan input is consistent with a jihad movement.
At some level above the religious and nationalist a small group of sponsors is raising a pinkie to bring more tea or coffee.
Screams, blood, explosions are their ka-ching, what Kojak called "music to my ears"
But he might assess the situation as requiring a sternly-worded communique to all parties
Here he is in Syria sending NATO, Russians, Turks, MB home so Syrians can take care of Syria:
