I recently bought a complete set of Audio and Video DVD's of Mae Brussell radio and TV broadcasts. I zeroed in on one numbered #316, which was the broadcast before Mae announced that she was scheduled as a witness in the trial brought by a Texan named Charles Winans as plaintiff (Melvin Belli of California was his attorney) against Rolling Stone and Paul Krassner, author of an article stating that Winans had coordinated an attack using Charles Denton "Tex" Watson to manipulate or set up Charles Manson and his girls to kill Sharon Tate and others, operating under Naval Intelligence.

That tape (#317) is available in MP3 at this link. http://www.maebrussell.com/CD%20catalog/Mae%27s%20CDs%20Part%202.html

30 min.
Charles Winans vs. Krassner and Rolling Stone. CIA-Louise James, Mind Control of primary witness. Memory Erased of Activist. MP3 Audio

Immediately preceding that broadcast, Mae discussed her theory of an international narcotics smuggling network (she calls it the Ajax File) which had long been operating through Interpol. She goes into the history of that "international police" agency beginning in 1924 when Hitler was first being groomed to take over in Germany after WWII for a fascist network of drug smugglers; then traces the history up to the collapse of Germany in 1945 and the transfer of Interpol to France in 1946. She says the SDECE was French counter-intelligence organization working with Interpol, which had no financing because it was a cooperative network of European countries designed to fight communism, i.e. my interpretation: anyone deemed an enemy of the banking cartels then in control of international trade payment mechanisms.

Since Interpol had no authorized funding, it was required to finance itself and had free reign, since its headquarters moved to France, to fund itself through narcotics being funneled from the French colonies in Indo-China through the ports in Marseilles. She indicates that Paul Helliwell during his days in OSS was seconded to this unit to observe how things operated in Post-war Interpol and SDECE. He set up a similar operation later in the CIA, especially once the French left Vietnam in 1954 and the U.S. took over the funding. It was in 1954 that the U.S. officially joined Interpol and continued funding it to finance whatever it was that Interpol was trying to accomplish. Mae says it was not designed to prosecute and remove international narcotics dealers because it never did so.

I will try to upload the MP3 tape #316 to the section of the Forum where these are stored.

Now that is really intriguing Linda. I've never heard of this before, nor dO I ever recall the name the Ajax File.
I greatly look forward to the upload.

I searched the Ferrell website for the term "Ajax File" and found nothing. However, since Brussell was referring to the conspiracy to resettle Nazis during WWII away from Germany to safe havens, I wonder if the term "Ajax File" could have referred to the British HMS Ajax mentioned here:

February 1, 2008
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — Argentina's navy identified a wreck off the coast of Buenos Aires province as the Ussukuma, a Nazi supply vessel that sank after an encounter with British warships in the early days of World War II.

The Ussukuma, scuttled by its crew in December 1939 after leaving the port of Bahía Blanca, was probably transporting food, fuel, and explosives for German warships, according to Argentine historian Carlos De Napoli, who helped identify the wreck.

The remains of the merchant vessel lie about 62 miles from the coastal town of Necochea at a depth of about 230 feet. The identification, confirmed in this month's issue of the navy's "Shipping Advisories," is a boost to efforts by historians and Argentine authorities to identify other wartime wrecks.

"This is the first Nazi wreck to be identified in Argentine waters in decades," Mr. De Napoli, 56, said. "We have at least six more Nazi ship and submarine wrecks waiting to be discovered."

Argentine Naval Captain Juan de Carranza said by e-mail that Mr. De Napoli's research helped identify what had appeared on charts as an unnamed wreck. There are no plans to salvage the ship. Another unidentified wreck is in the vicinity, maps show.

Attacks on merchant ships such as the Ussukuma were frequent throughout the war as Britain attempted to blockade Germany and end Adolf Hitler's Third Reich, on which it had declared war in September 1939.

"Any German ship at sea after September 1939 could only operate as a fugitive," Eric Grove, a professor of naval history at the University of Salford, England, said. "Standard procedure for those ships was to scuttle themselves if detected by enemy forces. Dozens were scuttled in the early weeks of the war."

The sinking of the Ussukuma took place one week before the Battle of the River Plate, which was the first major naval engagement of the war and ended in the scuttling of the German heavy cruiser Admiral Graf Spee. The River Plate is an estuary between Argentina and Uruguay.

The 7,800-ton Ussukuma had little chance of fulfilling its mission of supplying warships such as the Graf Spee. According to Britain's Naval Historical Branch, the ship's December 4, 1939, departure from Bahía Blanca was noted by the British Naval Attaché in Buenos Aires. At least two British warships, HMS Cumberland and HMS Ajax, were in the vicinity.

"The Commodore immediately ordered the Cumberland, which was on the way south to the Falkland Islands, to search the southern arcs of the Ussukuma's possible course," according to U.K. naval records.

"At 19:10 on the fifth, the Ajax sighted her smoke to the north-northeast, but the Germans scuttled their ship which, in spite of the efforts of the Ajax to save her, sank during the night."

After the Ussukuma sank, the Ajax took the 107 crew members from their lifeboats and transferred them to the Cumberland, which put them ashore on the Falklands Islands.

The Cumberland then went to the River Plate to join the Ajax and the New Zealand warship HMS Achilles, which were standing off the neutral port of Montevideo, Uruguay, where the Graf Spee had put in for repairs and fuel.

Realizing the ship couldn't evade the British navy, the Graf Spee's captain, Hans Langsdorff, ordered it scuttled in shallow waters on December 17.

The sinking of the Graf Spee helped boost the reputation of Winston Churchill, who was First Lord of the Admiralty at the time. Churchill referred to the victory in a January 20, 1940, broadcast speech summarizing the early months of the war.

"The Spee still sticks up in the harbor of Montevideo as a grisly monument and as a measure of the fate in store for any Nazi warship which dabbles in piracy on the broad waters," Churchill, who became prime minister less than four months later, said.

MP3 Audio

With typical genorosity, Linda has allowed me listen to tape #317.

Mae Brussell's friend and fellow activist, Louise James, had seen very interesting comings and goings from the place where Winans was staying, including military vehicles.

Louise James also claimed to recognize certain members of the Manson Family when they were finally caught and paraded in the national media, because she'd seen them earlier at Winans' gaffe.

The evidence is circumstantial but intriguing.

My own speculative interpretation of a mass of information is that Charles Manson and Charles "Tex" Watson were almost certainly controlled, but may have been the products of different programmes.

Manson was allegedly a "clear" - from his endless years in prison - in L Ron Hubbard's orginal Church of Scientology. L Ron's "church" had several offshoots, some of which were (im)plausibly deniable - such as the Process Church of Final Judgement.

Weasly lil' Charlie Manson was - rather bizarrely - transformed into a charismatic leader, preaching an apocalyptic war against... um... well, sometimes the "piggies"....

In truth, though, Helter Skelter was a truly ridiculous and garbled manifesto. It was an attempt to incite "race war" by blaming the Tate/LaBianca murders on militant black groups such as the Black Panthers. As a piece of visionary prophecy, Manson's Helter Skelter is worse than some of L Ron's science fiction tomes....

But but but... it's important to note that the best evidence - as presented in court - is that Manson was not himself a killer. He did not kill. (Although there are suggestions that he committed murders for which he has not been prosecuted.)

On the other hand, Charles "Tex" Watson was most definitely a killer. He delighted in killing, and in bullying or scaring others into killing (read the accounts of what actually went down at the known murder scenes).

Watson stabbed the bound Sharon Tate and her unborn baby until they breathed no more.

Watson used a knife to carve the word "war" into Leno Labianca's stomach.

If a core part of the deep black Manson Family anthropological experiment was to create assassins who would kill on order (probably through narco-hypno triggers), then Prime Exhibit Number One is Charles "Tex" Watson.

If this is correct, then Tex Watson was probably selected for programming in part because of his pre-existing violent tendencies and his naturally high hypnotizability (there is a scale).

However, years of research has convinced me that "programmed" assassins cannot be totally controlled by those who create them: it is a flawed, bogus, "science".

Lt Commander Narut spilled the beans on a real deep black assassination programme when it was in full swing.

But zombie killers behave like zombies.

Once despatched on his murderous missions, Watson was completely out of control.

Whereas Manson wrote about using "LSD" to "control" his family:

I quoted Adam Gorightly on John Judge's investigations here:

Through his lectures, written material and personal correspondence, I have pieced together John Judge's version of the Manson Family Conspiracy, extrapolated from the seeds of Mae Brussell's seminal research. Part of Judge's argument stems from a conversation Charles Manson had with Tim Leary in Folsom Prison - when the two were located in cells next to each other - and Manson asked Leary why he did not "use acid to control people?" To Judge, Charlie's question revealed a basic contradiction, because LSD - in his opinion - was a drug that would be useless as a control agent of any sort, except to create a state of confusion. For anyone who's experimented to any degree with LSD, it quickly becomes evident that - as an agent to control minds - it's a highly unpredictable compound.

It is Judge's opinion - along with that of the late Mae Brussell - that the type of "acid" the Mansonoids were using was a military version, unlike the stuff found on the streets, and though it was called "acid" was actually different from LSD-25. Judge believes that the MK-ULTRA version of "acid" was a psilocybin derivative called EA1729 that was used at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as part of MK-ULTRA experiments. According to Judge, this is the same "acid" that a buddy of David Berkowitz's named Terry Patterson - who served with him in Korea - claimed Berkowitz was given by the "brass" while in the Army, when he was placed in a special program reportedly for "profiled" candidates, after he asked for conscientious objector status. Mae Brussell was convinced that Berkowitz was another in a long list of MK-ULTRA patsies, and more correctly referred to him as "Son of Uncle Sam".

It has also been documented that Tex Watson tripped out on a belladonna concoction - Telache - a short time before the Tate-LaBianca murders, and was never "quite the same". Belladonna has a long history in the annals of espionage, another of the slew of chemical compounds used under the auspices of MK-ULTRA during the 50s. The derivative of belladonna that was used in these experiments was Atropine, a natural extract of the plant.

We inhabit a human laboratory.

(my bolding). Since we have often noted (on our forum) the connections between MK-ULTRA and UFO's, I suppose we should note again that Wright Patterson AFB was the home of the Air Farce's decades long investigation into UFO's called Project Bluebook.

Officially, EA 1729 was the classified codename for LSD-25.

Abstract : EA 1729 (lysergic acid diethylamide, LSD25) has been studied extensively in animals and in humans as a possible incapacitating CW compound. Clinical, physiological, and psychiatric studies have been conducted. From the standpoint of biological effectiveness, EA 1729 incapacitates man at doses as low as 1 microgram/kg, the degree of incapacitation increasing with the dose. Its effects endure for periods ranging from 6 to 24 hours. There is a very wide margin of safety between the incapacitating and lethal doses.

It wasn't just "tested" by intelligence agencies. Multinationals used it too:

According to "Acid Dreams" author, Martin Lee:

The CIA was still searching for a viable "truth serum" -- the Holy Grail of the cloak-and-dagger trade -- when it initiated Operation Artichoke in the early 1950s and began utilizing LSD during interrogation sessions. Odorless, colorless, and tasteless, LSD was hailed as a "potential new agent for unconventional warfare," according to a classified CIA report dated Aug. 5, 1954. But even a surreptitious dose of LSD, the most potent mind-bending drug known to science, could not guarantee that an interrogation subject would spill the beans.

Perhaps the concept of a "truth serum" was a bit farfetched, for it presupposed that there was a way to chemically bypass the mind’s censor and turn the psyche inside out, unleashing a profusion of secrets. After much trial and error, the CIA realized that it doesn’t quite work that way.

Eventually, CIA experts figured out the most effective way to employ LSD as an aid to interrogation. They used its terrifying effects on some prisoners as a third-degree tactic. A skillful interrogator could gain leverage over prisoners by threatening to keep them in a crazed, tripped-out state forever unless they agreed to talk. This method sometimes proved successful where others had failed. LSD has been used for interrogations on an operational basis -- albeit sparingly -- since the mid-1950s.

U.S. Army interrogators also employed EA-1729 (the code for LSD) as an intelligence-extracting aid. Similar to the strategy of their CIA counterparts, Army interrogators used the drug to scare the daylights out of people who were zonked and terror-stricken on acid.

Documents pertaining to Operation Derby Hat record the results of several EA-1729 interrogations conducted by the Army in the Far East during the early 1960s. One subject vomited three times and stated that he “wanted to die” after he had been slipped some LSD. His reaction was described as “moderate.”

After another target absorbed triple the dose normally used in such sessions, he kept collapsing and hitting his head on a table. “The subject voiced an anti-communist line,” an Army report noted, “and begged to be spared the torture he was receiving. In this confused state he even asked to be killed in order to alleviate his suffering.”

The crucial suggestion in the Judge/Gorightly passage though is that whatever "acid" the Manson Family were using, it wasn't LSD as we know it.

More of Mae Brussell's evolving hypothesis in the next post....

From Monterey Pop to Altamont
The CIA's War Against the Sixties Counter-Culture

by Mae Brussell, November 1976

V THE FINALE...Helter Skelter, Gimme Shelter

American and British pop/rock music during the 60's created an art form that has been described as one of the most important cultural revolutions in history.
Within a few years, between 1968 and 1976, many of the most famous names associated with this early movement were dead. Mama Cass Elliott (earlier with the Mamas and Papas), Jimi Hendrix, Otis Redding, Brian Jones (helped form the Rolling Stones with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards), Janis Joplin were all at the Monterey Pop celebration, summer 1967.
Duane Allman Berry Oakley (helped form Allman group with Duane and Gregg Allman), Tim Buckley, Jim Croce, Richard Farina, Donald Rex Jackson (road manager for Grateful Dead) Michael Jeffery (Jimi Hendrix' personal manager), Brian Epstein (Beatles manager), Al Jackson (drummer for Wilson Pickett, back-up drummer for Otis Redding), Vinnie Taylor (Sha-Na-Na) Paul T. Williams (choreographer for the Temptations, and one of the original Temptations), Clarence White (Byrds), Robbie McIntosh (drummer Average White Band), Jim Morrison (Doors), Pamela Morrison (Jim's wife), Rod McKernan "Pig Pen" (Grateful Dead), Phil Ochs, Gram Parsons (Byrds, Flying Burritos, International Submarine Band, singing with Emmylou Harris), Sal Mineo, Meredith Hunter (victim of ritual killing at Altamont Festival), Steve Perron (lead singer of Children, wrote hit songs for ZZ TOP), and Jimmy Reed (influenced many groups, combined harmonica with guitar) were a few possible victims.
Family and friends accepted the musicians depressions or accidents as having to do with alcohol, drug usage, or both. Was anything added to their beverages or drugs to cause personality changes and eventual suicides?
Almost every death was shrouded with unanswered questions and mystery.
Persons around the musicians had strange backgrounds and were often suspect.
All of these musicians were at the peak of a creative period and success at the time they were offered LSD. Their personalities altered drastically. Optimism and gratification were replaced with doubt and misery.
Why would young people with so much talent and influence as Phil Ochs, Janis Joplin, Gram Parsons, or Brian Jones wallow in suffering, self doubt, and despondency? They were all loved, doing important contributions to their concerts and compositions, cutting new records, recognized for their talent. It just doesn't make sense.
Jimi Hendrix, Mama Cass Elliott, Steve Perron choking from their vomit? I doubt it!!
Phil Ochs just happened to be touring Africa when a native "robber" jumped after him and cut his throat so that it affected his singing? The most political symbol of protest against the war in Vietnam, songwriter for Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and many others, is selected from millions of U.S. tourists for assault to his vocal chords. Incredible!!
Way back in 1966 the American Broadcasting Co. was planning to merger with International Telephone and Telegraph Co.(ITT). ABC had put aside $100,000 advance for the first television special by writer-poet Bob Dylan. The production was to climax the season.
On Saturday, July 30, 1966, Bob Dylan had a motorcycle accident. Dylan never got on the air, and ABC never merged with ITT. The merger required a lack of protest from the Antitrust Division of the Justice Department. No comment. By now you know what I am thinking!!!
In addition to Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, and the Dave Mason band, many others suffered near fatal accidents.
The nine years in which the musicians allegedly overdosed, drank themselves to death, drove over cliffs, hung themselves, choked, crashed their motorcycles, went insane, or freaked out without any reasonable explanation, were the same years that the FBI and CIA waged a domestic war against any kind of dissent.
Was Lennie Bruce the first victim? How about Jack Kerouac? Did Bruce pay his dues for comparing United States police to Hitler's Gestapo. Was all the fuss about dirty words only a cover story?
An important part of neutralizing any group is to kill or discredit the leaders.
Monterey Pop set the combined Government agencies in motion.

"Never again was there a festival such as the one that took place that weekend of 1967. Never was there another event where over thirty rock groups were inflated by no more that the joy of an enraptured audience and the gorgeous pleasure of performance itself. There were eight, nine, ten times as many people running rock festivals taking place only two years later. There was never another Monterey! The weekend was too intoxicating, too radiant, too pure."

"Janis Joplin, Buried Alive"
Myra Friedman

By 1968, the FBI's Counterintelligence Program, and the CIA's Operation Chaos, had included among their long list of domestic enemies "Advocates of New Lifestyles," "New Left," "Apostles of Non-Violence and Racial Harmony" and "Restless Youth."
Justification for indexing 300,000 law abiding citizens into files, and wiretapping, bugging, or burglarizing offices was rationalized on the basis that violence was prevalent, the cities were burning.
Now we find out that being "non-violent" and wanting "racial harmony," according to recent Congressional investigations, was also a crime.
The meeting place for this social, economic, and soon to become political, revolution was at the folk festival, rock concerts, free park love-ins, at the FM radio stations, or home with favorite records.
In the music there were many messages.
American youth were provided with a wide variety of radio stations to manage, alternative news sources, and new ways to learn what was going on in the world.
For the first time, young Americans found themselves with enough space and time to communicate.
The space was the entire continent, then the globe. They wandered. Many left homes in large numbers, seeking contacts from strangers in distant communities.
The time was often twenty four hours each day. They dropped out from established institutions. Clocks disappeared.
Musicians were bringing these young people together from far away places.

"I see a great deal of danger in the air. Teenagers are not screaming over pop music anymore, they're screaming for much deeper reasons. We're only serving as a means of giving them an outlet. Pop music is just the superficial tissue. When I'm on the stage I sense that the teenagers are trying to communicate to me, like by telepathy, a message of some urgency. Not about me or my music, but about the world and the way they live. I interpret it as their demonstration against society and it's sick attitudes. Teenagers the world over are weary of being pushed around by half-witted politicians who attempt to dominate their way of thinking and set a code for their living. This is a protest against the system. And I see a lot of trouble coming in the dawn."

Mick Jagger

Everything was beautiful until the insanity began.
The CIA got into the business of altering human behavior in 1947.
"Project Paperclip," an arrangement made by CIA Director Allen Dulles and Richard Helms, brought one thousand Nazi specialists and their families to the United States. They were employed for military and civilian institutions.
Some Nazi doctors were brought to our hospitals and colleges to continue further experimentations on the brain.
American and German scientists, working with the CIA, then the military, started developing every possible method of controlling the mind.
Lysergic Acid Diethylmide, LSD, was discovered at the Sandoz Laboratories, Basel, Switzerland, in 1939 by Albert Hoffman. This LSD was pure. No other ingredients were added.
The U.S. Army got interested in LSD for interrogation purposes in 1950. After May, 1956, until 1975, the U.S. Army Intelligence and the U.S. Chemical Corps "experimented with hallucinogenic drugs."
The CIA and Army spent $26,501,446 "testing" LSD, code name EA 1729, and other chemical agents. Contracts went out to forty-eight different institutions for testing. The CIA was part of these projects. They concealed their participation by contracting to various colleges, hospitals, prisons, mental hospitals, and private foundations.
The LSD I will refer to is the same type of LSD that the CIA used because of the similarity of symptoms between their reports and what happened to musicians or hippies after 1967. We shall be speaking of CIA-LSD, not pure LSD.
Government agents and the ability to cause permanent insanity, identical to schizophrenia, without physician or family knowing what happened to the victim.

"No physical examination of the subject is required prior to the administration of LSD. A physician need not be present. Physicians might be called for the hope they would make a diagnosis of mental-breakdown which would be useful in discrediting the individual who was the subject of CIA interest. Richard Helms, CIA Director, argued that administering drugs, including poisonous LSD, might be on individuals who are unwitting as this is the only realistic method of maintaining the capability considering the intended operational use to influence human behavior as the operational targets will certainly be unwitting."

"Senate Report to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities"
Book I, page 401, April 1976.

When the first reports came out that the CIA could administer a tasteless substance into the beverage of one of their most responsible co-workers, and drive that man into a mental institution, or cause him to jump out of a window to his death, all existing CIA records were destroyed.
Hippies and musicians, previously normal and creative, with families and loved ones identical to Dr. Frank Olson, responded in the same manner as Dr. Olson after their introduction to the same drugs.
Valuable documentation of LSD experiments should not have been in the hands of CIA Director Richard Helms. January 31, 1973, one day before he retired from the CIA, he removed some possible answers as to the fate of persons minds the past ten years.
Helms had been behind all the types of experimentations since 1947.
Mind altering projects went under the code names of Operation Chatter, Operation Bluebird/Artichoke, Operation Mknaomi, Mkultra, and Mkdelta.
By 1963, four years before Monterey Pop, the combined efforts of the CIA's Directorate of Science and Technology, Department of U.S. Army Intelligence, and U.S. Chemical Corps were ready for any covert operations that seemed necessary.
U.S. agents were able to destroy any persons reputation cause by inducing hysteria or excessive emotional responses, temporary or permanent insanity, suggest or encourage suicide, erase memory, invent double or triple personalities inside one mind, prolong lapses of memory, teach and induce racism and hatred against specific groups, cause subjects to obey instructions on the telephone or in person, hypnotically assure no memory remains of the assignments.
The CIA has poison dart guns to kill from far away, tranquilizers for pets so the household or neighborhood is not alerted by entry or exit.
While pure LSD is usually 160 micrograms, the CIA was issuing 1600 micrograms. Some of their LSD was administered to patients at Tulane University who already had wired electrodes in their brain.
Was being crazy an occupational disease of being a musician? Or does this LSD, tested and described in Army documents, explain how a cultural happening that was taking place in 1967-68 could be halted and altered radically?

Janis used to say that her speed experience was induced by a man. He had been the cause of it. He had brought her lower than she had ever been in her life. Her involvement with the young man started in the spring of '65.
He was a very sharp brain and questionable character, engaged in some rather odd activities. Neither his history or his name was his own. He set up a fraudulent international pharmaceutical company in Canada to obtain drugs. He was also a methadrine addict. Janis was an exceptionally vulnerable girl. It had taken Janis about seven months from the time she returned from New York to degenerate into a vegetable, an eighty pound spastic speed-freak.

"Buried Alive, Janis Joplin"

Chrissie Shrimpton described how Mick Jagger's mind was affected after he started taking acid. Jagger had a nervous breakdown in the United States, June 1966, some months after he started taking acid. His collapse came just weeks before the start of a new concert tour.
Several friends from America visited Jagger and Chrissie and surreptitiously slipped acid into her drink. She was literally out of her mind. A short while later, Chrissie attempted to kill herself.

"Henry Schneiderman, a sinister American, or Canadian...he had so many passports no one was certain of his origin, brought to Keith Richards home a suitcase...which contained several pounds of heroin, cannabis, pills acid, DMT, every herb and chemical to stab or stroke the mind...along with choice LSD from San Francisco.
Schneiderman had let believe he was really bending the law all over the world. He was on a James Bond thing, the CIA or something."

"Mick Jagger"
Tony Scaduto

Brian Jones had a complete personality change after taking LSD.
Janis Joplin's first LSD was administered surreptitiously. When she discovered what happened, she ran to spit it out.
Before Watergate, long before our understanding of Government agents interfering with our privacy or right to assemble, many autopsies and descriptions of mental conditions were never challenged. Today there is healthy suspicion.
When Tim Buckley died, following a successful concert in Dallas, Texas, his death was first attributed to a heart attack. Ten days later, Buckley's cause of death was discovered to be brought on by a drug overdose.
UCLA graduate student Richard Keeling was finally charged with murder after it was discovered that Buckley had sniffed heroin-morphine-ethanol. A police eyewitness actually saw Buckley ingest the powder.
Robbie McIntosh sniffed cocaine at a party.
The cocaine was laced with heroine and strychnine. Host Kenneth Moss was charged with murder.
In the cases of rock musicians becoming ill or passing away, there were so many variations of possibilities that could have been narrowed down toe facts if the doctors had been aware of all the circumstances. Jimi Hendrix was given a tab of acid just before his show at Madison Square Garden where he was playing with Buddy Miles and Bill Cox. The audience, as well as Hendrix, were completely freaked out by his irrational behavior. The result was that Hendrix was discredited.
The effect of one LSD dose could cause permanent brain injury. Anything Hendrix did after this experience, up to and including the time of his death, could be attributed to that earlier event.
Government manufactured LSD included countless combinations of chemicals.
New York State Psychiatric Institute was granted the first known contract for research into psychochemical drugs. The purpose was to determine the psychological effect of psychological chemical agents on human subjects. These subjects were given derivatives of LSD and mescaline. Other chemicals that were tested, which could be distributed at a later date included morphine, demerol, seconal, scopolamine, ditan, atrophine, psilocybin, BZ (benzilate), glycolate, atrophine substitutes, dimethyl, tryptamine, chlorpromazine, LSD with Dibenzyline (blocking agents), LSM (Lysergic acid morpholide), LSD like compounds, psilocybin, and various chemical glycolate agents.
It is no easy feat to alter society's consciousness. An arsenal of weapons was available.
Included among the chemicals were also choking agents, nerve agents, blood agents, blister agents, vomiting agents, incapacitating agents and toxins.

"The glycolates cause incapacitation by interfering with muscle, gland functions and the central nervous system, they depress or inhibit nervous activity. In addition to delirium there is physical incoordination, blurred vision inhibition of sweating and salivation, rapid heart rate, elevated blood pressure, increased body temperature and , at high doses, vomiting, prostration, and stupor or coma. The onset may be minutes, hours, or days."

Robert Hall, a private detective in Hollywood, was killed by a single bullet on July 22, 1976.
So far, there has been a wire service news blackout on the implications of Hall's murder for obvious reasons. The facts in this case should expose more than the tip of Watergate. What was going on is Los Angeles is part and parcel of the Washington, D.C. scandals.
If one Army report alone exposes that millions of dollars were spent using and testing chemical combinations for operational purposes, then somebody has to be around to distribute the poison.
Managers of seven rock groups, seven different groups, had hired private eye Hall to find out how their stars were getting "stoned."
Turning on or feeling "high" doesn't warrant hiring the professional assistance of a detective. That they were obviously complaining about was that the stars were being altered in such a way that it hampered with their public appearances, credibility, personal lives, and recordings.
Hall's inquiry revealed the drugs were coming from two pharmacies with which he had been employed.
Hall used to own a drug store in Hollywood with co-partner Jack Ginsburg, an admitted pornographer, who was charged with Hall's murder.
Gene LeBell, 44, the other man arrested along with Ginsburg, refereed the Muhammed Ali bout with a Japanese wrestler in July, '76. LeBell, a professional wrestler, is the son of Aileen Eaton, a well known boxing promoter who owns and operates the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The reports that Hall concluded for the managers of the rock musicians included the names of two physicians and one dentist as having supplied false prescriptions. The cause of apparent freaking out was centered in a small area of operation.
This information was turned over to the proper authorities for arrests before Hass was murdered. No actions were taken by the police. No arrests have been made.
The same frustrations plagued Robert Hall that bothered Phoenix, Arizona reporter Don Bolles. The higher-ups get police and law protection. The investigators get killed.
Don Bolles and Robert Hall were investigating some of the same people, an actual who's who of the cold war.
Hall's contacts were important because they touched the prime movers of our politics, movies, electoral processes, entertainment, and also our tastes in music and in sounds.
Within moments of Hall's murder, his name was linked with possible murder for hire, kidnapping plans for millionaire financier Robert Vesco's son, gun running to Vesco in Costa Rica, the unsolved stabbing of actor Sal Mineo, blackmail, the lost safe deposit box of Howard Hughes that could contain his original will, Beverly Hills financier Thomas P. Richardson (recently convicted of a $25 million stock fraud), Hollywood's most famous celebrities in drug and sex scandals, exposures of televisions stars and high Washington officials, drug traffic from Los Angeles to the Malibu community, international sports events, the Los Angeles Police Department (one of their former agents is now retired, heads the Police Science Department at L.A. Valley College and supplied the fatal weapon used to kill Hall), Los Angeles Police Department Chief Ed Davis (because of his links to the FBI and CIA) a possible plot to kidnap Bernard Cornfeld (associate of Robert Vesco), past contacts with Mickey Cohen, the long drug addiction of singer Eddie Fisher, contract employment of Hall by Howard Hughes Summa Corp., the two burglaries of Hughes headquarters in Van Nuys and on Romaine Street. The burglary on Romaine Street set off the Glomar Explorer scandal of Hughes fronting the contract for the CIA.
Hall sent his pals to New York. Dr. Max Jacobson, titled Dr. Feelgood, the source of John F. Kennedy's happy time vitamins. Roy B. Loftin, contractor for NASA, Texan, with a long association and friendship for Bobby Baker, Lyndon Johnson's protege, knew Hall.
Investigations into the slain Burbank private detective caused Beverly Hills Police Captain Jack Eggers, on the force seventeen years, to resign.
Hall worked as a double agent for the Beverly Hills Police and the Los Angeles Police.
The relationship between law enforcement, drug traffic, and personalities as varied as politicians and musicians makes it sometimes impossible to get an impartial investigation of certain deaths. What appears as suicide can be murder.
At the time of Hall's murder, his possessions included tranquilizer guns, drug loaded darts that fire gas canisters, electronic bugging equipment of all kinds, and a wide variety of chemical formulas.
The chemicals were possibly a combination from the many tested by the U.S. Government from 1953 to 1963.

Why were Hippies such a threat, from the President on down to local levels, objects for surveillance and disruptions?
Many of the musicians had the potential to become political. There were racial overtones to the black-white sounds, the harmony between people like Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, and Jimi Hendrix. Black music was the impetus that got the Rolling Stones into composing and performing.
The war in Vietnam was escalating. What if they stopped protesting the war in Southeast Asia and turned to expose domestic policies at home with the same energy? One of the Byrds stopped singing at Monterey Pop to question the official Warren Report conclusion that Lee Harvey Oswald was a "lone assassin."
Bob Dylan's "Bringing it All Back Home" album has a picture of Lyndon Johnson on the cover of Time.
By 1966, LBJ had ordered all writers and critics of his Commission Report on the JFK murder to be under surveillance.
That research was hurting him. Rock concerts and Oswald. What next?

While preacher preach of evil fates
teachers teach that knowledge waits
Can lead to hundred dollar plates
Goodness hides behind its gates
But even the president of the United States
Sometimes must have
to stand naked.

Bob Dylan
"It's Alright Ma"
Bringing it All Back Home album

John and Yoko Lennon were protesting the Vietnam war. The State Department wrote documents describing them as "highly political and unfavorable to the administration." It was recommended their citizenship be denied, and they be put under surveillance.
Mick Jagger, before he was offered Hollywood's choicest women and heavy drugs, was concerned about the youth protests in Paris, 1968, and the anti-war demonstrations at the London Embassy.

"War stems from power-mad politicians and patriots. Some new master plan would end all these mindless men from seats of power and replace them with real people, people of compassion."

Mick Jagger

Woodstock, summer of 1969, was the turning point of rock festivals. Time magazine described this happening as "one of the most significant political and sociological events of the age."
One half million American youth assembled for a three day rock concert. They were non-violent, fun-loving hippies, who resembled the large followings of Mahatma Gandhi in India and Rev. Martin Luther King in the USA, both strong advocates of non-violence. And both assassinated.
It is important to understand the kinds of drugs and agents available to stifle dissent, the mentality of people hell-bent on changing the course of history, in order to comprehend that cultures and tastes can be moved in directions according to game plans in the hands of a few people.
Adolf Hitler's first targets in Nazi Germany were the Gypsies and the students. LSD was a youth oriented drug; that was perfected in the laboratory. When it was combined with other chemicals, and given the wide distribution necessary all that remained were the marching orders to go to war.

July, 1968, the FBI's counterintelligence operations attacked law abiding American individual's and groups.
The stated purpose of these assaults was to disrupt large gatherings, expose and discredit the enemy, and neutralize their selected targets.
Neutralization included killing the leaders,if necessary. Preferably, turn two opposing segments of society against each other to do the dirty work for them.
Remember that among these dangers to the security of the United States were persons with "different lifestyles" and also "apostles of non-violence and racial harmony."
CIA Director Richard Helms warned National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger, Feb. 18, 1969, that their study on "Restless youth" was "extremely sensitive" and "would prove most embarrassing for all concerned if word got out the CIA was involved in domestic matters."
The FBI sent out a list of suggestions on how to achieve their goals. They can all be applied to what happened to musicians, youngsters at folk rock festivals, and hippies along the highway.

Gather information on their immorality. Show them as scurrilous and depraved. Call attention to their habits and living conditions. Explore every possible embarrassment. Send in women and sex, break up marriages. Have members arrested on marijuana charges. Investigate personal conflicts or animosities between them. Send articles to the newspapers showing their depravity. Use narcotics and free sex to entrap. Use misinformation to confuse and disrupt. Get records of their bank accounts. Obtain specimens of handwriting. Provoke target groups into rivalries that may result in death.

"Intelligence Activities and Rights of Americans"
Book II, April 26, 1976
Senate Committee Study with Respect to Intelligence

The IRS admitted that "people who attend rock concert festivals" were listed among targets for investigation by its special staff. Agent Leon Levine said that "ideological groups such as rock festival patrons were to be watched."
A San Diego police officer was penalized for throwing rocks at a concert that injured a 17 year-old girl. She was treated for a fractured nose and facial lacerations.
John and Yoko's legal problems began when marijuana was planted in some binoculars while moving. After Mr. Schneiderman showed the British police his full suitcase of drugs during the bust with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Robert Frazier, Schneiderman left town. He was never arrested. The Stones went to jail. Mick Jagger was then put on the International Red List as a possible narcotics smuggler every time he went through customs.
Cable Splicer III, martial law plans, set to control civil disturbances, May 1970, described as dangerous "love-in type gatherings in the parks where in large numbers freak out, peace marches, rock festivals where violence is commonplace and sex is unrestrained."
Chicago Police Chief Rockford, overall commander during the police clashes at 1968 demonstrations, was also in charge of the police who fired a volley of shots, wounding one youth in a riot at the 1970 rock festival in Grant Park.
Louis Tackwood, agent provocateur with the Los Angeles Police Department, exposed CREEP and the Republicans who were going to turn San Diego into a scene of violence during the conventions in 1972. Part of the plans were to seal off and them bomb a hundred thousand demonstrators attending a rock concert on Fiesta Island in Mission Bay, San Diego.
Employees at the CIA's Langley, Virginia, headquarters don't have to stand in line to get tickets to these events. They have a top-secret ticketron outlet for rock concert appearances.
A similar top-secret ticketron outlet is administered by the National Security Agency at For George Meade, Md.
Howard Hughes organization ordered "all rock concerts prohibited in Las Vegas."
Fortune, January 1969, described the Movement as encompassing "hippies and doctrinaire Leninists, anarchists and populists, revolutionaries, whose domain is the human mind, rock bands and cultural guerrillas."
During the 1968 riots in Washington, D.C. group singing was outlawed by the police department. They were aware that people "get high" singing together.
Records of Led Zeppelin, Cat Stevens, Alice Cooper, Simon and Garfunkel, Jethro Tull and others were burned at the Hollywood Christian Academy in Hollywood, Fla. Rock music was described as being "of the devil, having no place in a Christian life."
The rock group Black Cat won a $570,000 slander suit against a minister in Arkansas. Their concert had been prevented, claiming they were a "mongrel group of Satanic origins."
Following the slaying of two Americans in South Korea in August, the government issued tighter controls on long hair and "decadent music." Korea has a list of 260 decadent rock-folk and protest songs. Among them is "I Shot the Sheriff" and "We Shall Overcome." A survey of Quebec policemen showed that more of them were hostile to hippies or beatniks than they are toward criminals.
Art Linkletter, a television personality, told a Congressional committee investigating drug abuse that the "Beatles were the leading advocates of an acid society." This is an example of turning one hostile group against another. There is every reason to believe that the LSD that caused Dr. Frank Olson and Diane Linkletter to leap from buildings to their death could be manufactured from the same laboratories. With justified anger, Linkletter became a mouthpiece. Meanwhile, the so-called straight society Linkletter was defending, spent sixteen years and millions of dollars perfecting LSD into an operational weapon.
Los Angeles Police arrested 511 persons attending the Pink Floyd concert. There were no mass arrests at Elton John's performance in the same city, around the same time.
Somebody is selecting their targets, because there is plenty of grass at Elton's concert.
"Peace Pills" were distributed at the Santa Clara Fairgrounds for a folk-rock festival. Youngsters were hospitalized. A strange drug was handed out freely and poured into drinks.
All of those who took the drug were treated, but sent home without any knowledge of the psychological damage.
This pill was blamed for the death of Mrs. Loid Dodd de Lattre, wife of a beatnik priest. Mrs. de Lattre's heart burst under the stimulation of the drug. Under its influence, she tore out her hair and threw herself on the floor.
A man had jumped on the musician's platform and announced they had 4,000 pills to hand out. The pills caused "marked disorientation as to time and space, inability to sustain directed thought, presence of a trance-like state."
This kind of scene was so common that large groups were discouraged from performing in the manner they had before these assaults took place.
The irreplaceable loss of lives and talent has been noticed by persons sensitive to the rock-folk music.
We can't bring them back to life. We might take time to examine their deaths, if only to stop the still going attack upon certain artists and musicians.
Some of my information on the details of these deaths is incomplete. The circumstances surrounding them caused me to ask some hard questions.

JOHN CARPENTER, 45 yrs, Sept. 18, 1976, killed by hit and run driver, Ben Lomand, Calif. Part of the earliest rock scene, once managed Grace Slick, wrote for Rolling Stone from issue one through eight, disc jockey at KPFK, music critic for L.A Free Press. Got "totally crazed" and committed himself to a mental institution for a while.

TIM BUCKLEY, 28 yrs, June 29, 1975, Los Angeles. Just returned from a concert in Dallas, Texas, about to make a movie of Woodie Guthrie's "Bound for Glory." Death caused by heroin-morphine-pentathol. Police eyewitness to his taking the drug. Joe Falsia, Buckely's manager "never knew Tim used drugs." Richard Keeling charged with his murder.

THE CHASE, August 11, 1974, Four in rock group killed, airplane crash. Bill Chase, Jazz trumpeter with Woody Herman, Walt Clark, drummer, John Emma, guitarist, and Wallace Wouhne, organist. Three years ago the Chase had a single, "Get It On," that became a hit. Popular with radio stations. Played often in Las Vegas, Japan, Africa, released three albums.

JIM CROCE, 30 yrs. old, Sept. 20, 1973. Airplane crash, Louisiana. Recorded hit albums, including "Bad, Bad LeRoy Brown." Degree in psychology from Villanova U., sang at small colleges. Croce's widow filed a $2.5 million suit against Federal Aviation Administration. Allegations that preparation of maps on the airport runway were faulty, leaving a tree unmarked which the fatal plane struck.

BRIAN JONES, July, 1969, London. One of the original members of the Rolling Stones. Unique musician, helped the group get started, under control of drugs by 1966, took LSD that caused personality changes and depression. Seemed to have brain damage and disintegrated. Compared his arrests and planted grass to the treatment Lennie Bruce had received, forced to drop from the group. Keith Richards, of the Stones, said,

"Some very weird things happened the night Brian died. We had these chauffeurs working for us, and we tried to find out. Some of them had a weird hold over Brian. I got straight into it and wanted to know who was there and couldn't find out. The only cat I could ask was the one I think who got rid of everybody, and did a whole disappearing thing so that when the cops arrived, it was just an accident. Maybe it was. I don't know. I don't even know who was there that night, and finding out is impossible. It's the same feeling with who killed Kennedy. You can't get to the bottom of it."

"Mick Jagger"
Tony Scaduto

MAMA CASS ELLIOT, 33, former member of Mamas and Papas, London. Found dead in her apartment. "Probably choked to death on a ham sandwich," or "possibly of heart attack. The coroner said it "appears the singer had not died of natural causes." She was propped up in bed, and had been dead for a considerable time before her body was found. Had just completed two weeks at the London Palladium, was ready to tour Britain, was in excellent mental spirits. Performed at the Monterey Pop.

JANIS JOPLIN, 27 yrs., Oct. 3, 1970, Los Angeles. Cause of death listed as "drug overdose, accidental." Lawsuit in 1974 claimed "it was possible that something unknown triggered a fatal reaction." Fought alcohol and drug usage most of her adult life. Body at autopsy didn't show large amounts of morphine. The night she died, Janis was with a mysterious character who accompanied her to the Landmark Hotel, L.A. She made three calls to her drug "connection" on the hotel switchboard. No arrests or effort to locate this party. Went to the lobby, bought cigarettes, talked, walked back to her room, and fell on the floor inside the door. Was taking pills to stop drug habit? Engaged to be married, slim, tan, recording what was to be a tremendous success, Pearl, happy with her band, climbing out of darker days when she dropped dead. Sang at Monterey Pop with Big Brother and the Holding Company. One of the top blues-acid rock stars.

DONALD REX JACKSON, 31, Sept. 28, 1976. Automobile accident. Manager for the Grateful Dead, just set group up for a national tour. Car swerved off the road, killed instantly.

AL JACKSON, 39 yrs., October, 1975. Former drummer with Booker T. and the MG's. Back up drummer for Otis Redding. Shot to death five times, Memphis, Tenn. Cause of death "apparent robbery." Produced Stax Records.

JIMI HENDRIX, 27 yrs., Sept. 18, 1970. Cause of death clouded. Suggestions of drug plants, mafia connections, murder. Kidnapped shortly before he died. Surrounded by groupie females, one of whom boasted giving him his first acid trip. Affected by acid, depression, interfered with performances. One of top stars at Monterey Pop. Into rock-blues, jazz. Media assumption of "suicide" or "drug overdose" like Joplin. Earned millions. Freaked out and couldn't do his serious music.

JIM MORRISON, 27 yrs., July 3, 1971. Paris, France. Lead singer for the Doors. Cause of death "heart attack," or "pneumonia" or "died peacefully of natural causes." Best known hit "Light My Fire." Author "The Lords," "The New Creatures." Poet, UCLA graduate, writer, musician, politically controversial. Completed tour of Europe, South Africa, writing a movie script in Paris. Sometime irrational behavior on stage. Harassed by police, some false arrests, some charges later dropped. Described as "appearing to be in a hypnotic trance." Found guilty of using "lewd and lascivious conduct" in Miami, Florida, March, 1969. His arrest the excuse for "rally for decency" by singers, TV personalities. Deeply affected by the death of Brian Jones. (Janis Joplin died a month after Jimi Hendrix. Jim Croce died a day after Gram Parsons.) Group broke up after Morrison's death.

PAMELA MORRISON, April 27, 1974, Hollywood, Calif. Wife of Jim Morrison. Cause "an apparent drug overdose." A hypodermic syringe discovered in the apartment. No mention of drugs in her system or if there were needle marks.

RICHARD FARINA, Carmel Valley, Calif. Motorcycle crash. Author, musician, just completed a book, attended autographing party, drove down the road, met fatal crash. Brother-in-law of Joan Baez, married to Mimi. Recorded a new album "The Falcon." "Celebrations for a Gray Day," as described on the jacket, "Goldwater was about to win the California primary and the skies were somewhat uneasy."

ROBBIE McINTOSH, 28 yrs., Sept. 23, 1974, Los Angeles, died from heroin and strychnine that he believed was cocaine. Host Kenneth Moss, Freelandia Airlines, might have been singled as the target. Moss formed new charter, low cost airline. Cher Bono at the party, saved the life of Alan Gorrie. Gregg Allman working for Jimmy Carter's nomination at the time. Allman's drug arrests just before elections, Cher's attending a party where drugs with poison administered, might have caught McIntosh as innocent victim. Moss was charged with murder. (Janis Joplin's known drug connection was not held for her death.)

SAL MINEO, 1975, Los Angeles. Stabbed in back. One time singer, actor, whose next role was to play Sirhan Sirhan. Controversial movie about the hypnotic state of Sirhan, and LAPD suppression of evidence on the Robert Kennedy assassination. Robert Hall was allegedly following Mineo the night he was killed.

ROD McKERNAN, "PIG PEN" 27 yrs. old, March 1973, Corte Madera, Calif. Member of Grateful Dead, organist, singer. Body found in an apartment by neighbor who hadn't seen him for a few days. Coroner's office reports, first accounts probably natural causes, probably liver disease. Had been suffering from cirrhosis of the liver, swelling of blood vessels in his throat. No explanation for his sudden death, or why not at the hospital, or gone for help. Hadn't touched alcohol for two years.

PHIL OAKS, 35 yrs. old, April 1976, New Jersey. "Death by hanging." No suicide notes, nobody sure why Oaks died. Active during Vietnam war, got depressed 1971, using alcohol. Sang at Madison Square Garden, with Bob Dylan, "An evening with Salvadore Allende" in 1974, obsessed with JFK assassination. Developed two personalities, John Train and Phil Oaks. Talked of death, had erratic behavior. "Band of robbers" in Africa one of the reasons for his depression. Oaks was attacked Hendrix was kidnapped just before his death. Known as the troubadour of the "New Left," one of the FBI's target groups.

STEVE PERRON, 28 yrs., Aug. 8, 1973. San Antonio, Texas. Died from inhaling vomit fumes during sleep. Composer, writer, lead singer for Children. GRAM PARSONS, 26 yrs., Sept. 19, 1974, Calif. Cause of death shrouded in mystery. Autopsy report "inconclusive." Body taken off airplane on way to Louisiana, cremated 200 miles away from L.A. Composer, singer, musician. Former theology student from Harvard who went into country-western music, sang with the Byrds, Flying Burritos, Submarine Blues, and Emmylou Harris. Made some informal recordings with actor Brandon DeWilde, child star of "Shane" and "Member Of The Wedding", who died in July 1972 in a car accident in Denver, Colorado. DeWilde was driving to a stage play performance of "Butterflies Are Free", in which he was starring.

Once happy family life, conventional, turned on to LSD, drugs, alcohol, became depressed, left mysteries about what happened to him. Phil Kaufman, ex-convict charged with drug smuggling, lived with Charles Manson two months, managed Parsons. Kaufman took Gram to Joshua Tree Inn, where he died, and removed the coffin to the desert, where the body was assured of never having another autopsy.

OTIS REDDING, 26 yrs., December 1967. Airplane crash over Wisconsin. First star of Monterey Pop to die. Brought soul to every American city. Best known hit record "By the Dock of the Bay." A poll before his death claimed Redding the most popular musical star in Europe.

JIMMY REED, 50 yrs., Aug. 29, 1976. Natural causes, "died the night before he was set for a California tour." Blues writer, harmonica player, influenced Dylan, Steve Miller, Grateful Dead.

VINNIE TAYLOR (CHRIS DONALD), 25 yrs., April 1974, Virginia. Lead guitarist for Sha-Na-Na. Found by National Guard in motel room following a concert in Va. On way to appear in Pittsburgh, Pa. for a sell-out performance.

CLARENCE WHITE, Car crash. Los Angeles, Calif. One of the Byrds. Close friend of Gram Parsons.

PAUL WILLIAMS, 34 yrs., Aug. 23, 1973, Detroit, Michigan. Found dead in the car, gun on his lap. One of the original Temptations. Did the choreography for Temptations. Had solved drinking problems, emotional crisis. Dead only a few blocks from Motown, where first records made.

Helter Skelter and Gimme Shelter

War, Children
It's just a shot a-way,
It's just a shot a-way
See the fire sweeping our very street today,
Barns like a red coal carpet, ma
Mad bull lost its way
Rape! Murder! It's just a shot away
Gimme Gimme Shelter
or I'm gonna fade away
Love sister,
It's just a kiss away.

"Gimme Shelter"
Let it Bleed Album

By the end of 1969, the folk-music festival was killed in spirit and was over as a cultural happening. It never was the same again. There are musical performances, but it just isn't the same feeling.
The two most popular groups, The Beatles and the Rolling Stones, would be identified, through media and factual distortions, with cold blooded murder and violence.
Helter Skelter, the name of a Beatles song, would become the title of Manson Family prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi's book.
What a strange twist of fate!!
Gimme Shelter, the name of a movie depicting the ritualistic murder of a black man attending the Rolling Stones concert in Altamont Racetracks, California, is from a song by the Rolling Stones.
How did this all happen?
Coincidence or conspiracy?
There are so many published Government documents today, and Congressional Hearings exposing illegal CIA and FBI domestic activities, that it is almost impossible to ride the coincidence coat tails much longer.
Just as pocket calculators add numbers faster, history's dates also put pieces of the puzzle into better perspective.

FACT 1 Social structures are rearranged by architects. Politica, the game plan for overthrowing Salvador Allende's elected government in Chile was arranged by Abt. Associates, Cambridge, Mass., in 1965.
Abt. was a front for the Pentagon and CIA. They had another plan titled Camelot.
Was Camelot the military answer to future dissent in America that would follow other necessary assassinations? The war in Vietnam escalated Nov. 24, 1963, with no known provocation from North Vietnam. It was only a matter of time before the natives at home would find out what was happening, before Norman Mailer would be writing "Why are We in Vietnam?"

FACT 2 In 1972, at time the Watergate, E. Howard Hunt was employed by the White House to forge secret State Department papers. The sole purposes of this procedure was to distort history and make the late President Kennedy responsible for the assassination of Ngo Dinh Diem, president of South Vietnam. There would be attempts to blame Kennedy for the assassination plot against Fidel Castro, in spite of massive evidence to the contrary.
For all who remembered Kennedy kindly, who complained about his assassination, history was being arranged with a scissors and scotch tape.
Kennedy would come out a scummy killer himself.
This wasn't taking place in some strange office, or dark cellar, but in the same White House offices where Nixon was screaming "Manson did it."
If President Nixon went to so much trouble to identify murder with an innocent man like Kennedy, there is every reason to believe his hatred of anti-war hippies and their folk-rock musicians could also be identified with murder. Make them all look violent. Bring it all down.

FACT 3 In 1969, the combined agencies of the CIA, Army, and FBI, were put into full operational use. The Sharon Tate-La Bianca murders happened August, 1969.
The Altamont violence and filmed movie was Dec. 6, 1969.

CIA The CIA prepared for defense against American youth unrest in 1965, the same year as Camelot and Politica.
With full knowledge of their illegal activities, they joined forces with the CIA and the Army.
By August 1967, Special Operations group went after the youth. By July, 1968, Operation Chaos, identical to Chilean "Chaos," went after the "Restless Youth." This wasn't a study. It was an attack.
Mid-summer of 1969, one month before the Manson Family massacres, Operation Chaos went into the most tight security of any assignment ever accomplished inside the CIA.
From 1956-63, they had perfected enough LSD to cause every violent act or symptom associated with the violence in Los Angeles or at Altamont.
It was identical to giving poison candy at Halloween. LSD was the moving force, the cause for the Sharon Tate-La Bianca slaughters. It was fed at the Spahn ranch for a steady diet.
LSD was the moving force behind Altamont killing and violence Dec. 6, 1969. Thousands of tablets were distributed to the Hell's Angels, who then went totally berserk and started cracking skulls.

FBI May, 1964, after the JFK assassination, the FBI formed their COINTELPRO, counterintelligence program.
July, 1968, explicit orders went out to proceed, accompanied with instructions, to neutralize segments of our society, including those restless youth.
By 1969, the SSS, Special Services Staff of the FBI, combined with the Justice Department, and with CIA's Operation Chaos.
August, 1969, was the Sharon Tate-La Bianca slaughter.
December 6, 1969, was the Altamont concert of the Rolling Stones.

ARMY The Army began their chemical testing of LSD, the youth drug, in 1956, the same year they were planning Politica and Camelot in Cambridge, Mass.
Contracts for testing LSD and chemical agents continued through 1975.
January 21, 1969, the army reported "the LSD tests are rewarding. It is recommended that the actual application of LSD be utilized in real situations on an experimental basis."
Acid was distributed, surreptitiously, to large masses of the population. It was the chemical that was to link Helter Skelter and Gimme Shelter with blood and gore.

FACT 4 There is more to the creation of the Manson Family, and their direction than has yet been exposed.
There is more to the making of the movie Gimme Shelter than has been explained.
This saga has inter-connecting links to all the beautiful people Robert Hall was associated with.
The Manson Family and the Hell's Angels were instruments by which enemy forces could attack and discredit hippies and critical American youth who had dropped out of the establishment.
The violence came down from Neo-Nazi racists, adorned with Swastikas both in L.A. and in the Bay Area at Altamont.
The blame was placed on persons not even associated with the causes of death at all.
When it was all over, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones were the icing on this cake, this presentation, to rub musicians into a racist, neo-nazi plot.
By rearranging the facts, cutting here and there, distorting evidence, neighbors and family feared their own youth wandering through the communities.
Charles Manson made the cover of Life, with those wide eyes, like Rasputin.
Charles Watson didn't make the cover. Why not? He participated in all the killings. Manson wasn't inside the house. Because Manson played a guitar and made records. Watson didn't.
Charles Watson was too busy taking care of matters, at the lawyer's office prior to the killings, or with officials of the Young Republicans.
What were Watson's protections in Texas, where he remained until his separate trial prevented him from being psychologically linked to all the deaths he actually committed?
"Pigs" was written in Sharon Tate's house in blood. Was this to make blacks become targets and suspects for stalking white territory?
Credit cards of the La Bianca family were purposely deposited in the black ghetto after their massacre. The intention was to stir racial fears and hatred.
Who wrote the first article, "Did Hate Kill Tate?", blaming the Black Panthers for the murders? Army intelligence agent Ed Butler, Lee Harvey Oswald's old pal from New Orleans. They made a record together so that Oswald could pass himself off as a Marxist. Another deception.
Glasses were left on the floor of Sharon Tate's home the day of the murder. They were never identified.
Who moved all the bodies after the killers left and before the police arrived?
The Spahn ranch wasn't a hippie commune. It bordered the Krupp ranch, and has now been combined and incorporated to make a German Bavarian beer garden. Howard Hughes knew George Spahn. He went to this ranch daily while making The Outlaw.
Howard Hughes bought the 516 acres of Krupp property in Nevada after he moved into that territory. What about Altamont? What distortions and untruths forced that movie?
Why did Mick Jagger order "the concert must go on"?
There was a demand the filmmakers be allowed to catch this concert. It couldn't have happened the same in any other state.
The Hell's Angels had a long working relationship with some of the law enforcement, particularly in the Oakland area.
They became heroes of the S. F. Chronicle and other papers when they physically assaulted the dirty anti-war hippies protesting the shipment of arms to Vietnam.
The laboratory for choice LSD, the kind brought to England for the Stones, came from the Bay Area and could be consumed easily by this crowd attending their free love-in.
Persons at the concert said there was "a compulsiveness to the event." It had to take place.
Melvin Belli, Jack Ruby's lawyer, made the legal arrangements. Ruby had complained that Belli had prohibited him from telling the full story on why he killed Lee Harvey Oswald. (another media event) There are so many layers of cover-up, and there are just so many persons whose names reappear, only in different scripts.
Sen. Philip Hart, a member of the Senate Committee investigating illegal intelligence operations inside the USA, claimed that his children were telling him all these things were happening. He had refused to believe them. The Senator felt it was his obligation to defend his country rather than look at the evidence.
November 18, 1975, Sen. Hart realized matters were not only out of hand, but that the past has to be made believable in order to prevent the same things happening over and over again.

The trick now is for this committee to be able to figure out how to persuade the people of this country that indeed it will go on. And how shall we insure that it will never happen again? But it will happen repeatedly, unless we can bring ourselves to understand and accept that it did go on.

Senate Hearings, Vol. 6, p. 41

Meanwhile, it still does go on. Flo and Eddie, the musical group formed after the Turtles, had to cancel their fully booked one year tour of the U.S. and Britain.
Their lead guitarist either fell or was pushed from a ninth-floor hotel room of the Salt Lake City Hilton.
First notice of this murder appeared November 9, 1976, in a small column from the S.F. Chronicle.
John Austin wrote "the accident has not yet been reported, as the gendarmes are trying to keep the lid on it."
A few days before, their manager, Jim Taylor, was threatened.
There were hints the syndicate might be taking over the pop music business.
Was that the next process, once the counter-culture was removed?

More Mae Brussell on Manson, Tex Watson, and mysterious characters like Shibley (linked with Sirhan Sirhan):

NO. 16, OCTOBER 13, 1971

GLORIA BARON: This is Dialogue: Assassination with research specialist Mae Brussell. For KLRB I'm Gloria Baron.

Well Mae, we promised them last week that you would be doing the Manson trial this week. And I guess from the looks of things you're ready.

MAE BRUSSELL: Yes. I'm ready and I'm not ready. I would like lots of hours on this, but it's really big and we'll get right into it. I had ten other subjects I wanted to talk about today, but it would delay the Manson story, so we'll go into it, Gloria, right away.

Because in this world, in this strange world of covert overthrow of the governments and clandestine armies and secret operations, the problem we're facing is that you're working with two realities: you're working with what we assume is the real way to function and move. And then we're working with a system of what we call power: exchange of power, economic power, power over people; controlling their lives. And in order to do that you disguise certain persons and send them into roles to influence; they become actors on a stage and they influence our minds in a way that is not real but effect a reality that will touch us later.

A propos of the Manson thing: the Oda trial; the murder of the Oda family–with accused murderer, Fazier–goes to trial Monday. It's in the paper today. That was not a hippie murder–I've said it before. They took the trial out of Santa Cruz up to Redwood City.

We'll do a show on the Oda trial, but because the Manson trial effects this particular geographic area–it's close to us; it's close to home. California was where the flower children were. Big Sur was the home of the people like Joan Baez, Henry Miller, free souls, artists. California was an important state in terms of conspiracies to kill candidates and presidents, and to effect national policy. And it's part of the military-industrial-complex. And I'm going to explain why the Manson trial–why the murder of Sharon Tate and the other persons in her home was a political massacre. Other researchers have done work on John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King. I was the first researcher in the United States to turn the other peoples' minds to the fact that the same lawyers, the same planners, the same teams originated this particular massacre, and what effect it would have on our society.

It had to be planned well in advanced of when it happened. And I'll go in–I'm going to give you my conclusions on the Manson–I call it the Manson trial because nobody talks about it being Charles Watson's massacre. That's the boy who killed seven people. But the news media associates the name Charles Manson. He made the picture on the cover of Life. He is the man that you associate with killing Sharon Tate. Many people don't even know the name Charles Watson, because you're not supposed to know it. Right now there's a hung jury in Los Angeles on the decision of whether Charles Watson is guilty of murdering seven people. He was in the home. He did the stabbing forty times. He wrote "death to the pigs" on the door. The jury can't decide if he was guilty.

Now, my conclusions are, number one: that all of these persons involved: the major people, are agent provocateurs. They come at a time to increase violence. To come down on a segment of our society prior to an election year. And to make law and order necessary to protect us from the people at large in our society.

Number two: Charles Manson was a patsy. He is identical, historically, to Lee Harvey Oswald, Sirhan Sirhan, and James Ray. Charles Manson killed nobody in the Sharon Tate home, or in the La Bianca home. He was being charged with these murders, he didn't kill any one of those seven people. He was used. He was a person who had been in jail twenty-two of his thirty-two years of life. He was the product of our penal system. He was not a hippie or a part of the youth culture. They bought him a guitar, let his hair grow, and put a leather jacket on him, gave him money, gave him a bus and credit cards, and told him to do his thing.

It was like James Ray was a part of our penal system. He was in Missouri in jail, and he was met with certain persons. And the next day he was out and there was twenty, thirty-thousand dollars of money spent. And he traveled continents and everywhere, and he was to be used at a certain time and place.

Charles Manson was identical to James Ray as a product of our penal system. He was used by the news media to slam down on the hippies. We could do one hour on the news control of how your brain is shaped to believe that Charles Manson made a robot out of a nice white Christian boy from Texas–isn't this terrible–kind of a criminal mind. He was used.

And now I'm going into my background of these opinions because they may be startling: People who think they're knowledgeable on our economy, or on the other assassinations, who never believed the Warren Report, throw up their hands. I spoke to somebody just this morning before I came in the studio, and said I was doing a story on Manson. And this particular person: educated, informed, said, "That is something I never–I'm not interested in Manson. I'd never think about that particular human being." And people turn off on Manson.

But this is the way my mind was going in 1963. I told you how I was studying the death of John Kennedy, starting November 22nd. I was studying the use and the misuse of power, after the president of the United states had been killed. I was wanting to know who killed him, what kind of people they were, what was their interest? What was their philosophy? What was their politics? How many of them believed Adolph Hitler should have won World War Two? How many of the people involved in that assassination worked in our state department, defense industry, or had important government positions, like in Cabinet now? Or in the Republican National Committee? This country that is current today, I've been studying since '63. I studied the Cold War, the military-industrial-complex of the United States. What we formally call capitalism verses communism, which now is a disguised fascism–with the electoral process over–verses communism. And I studied the economic and philosophical policies of both systems and the religious revolution that was going on simultaneously.

In April, 1967 the Greek government was overthrown by a military Junta. There is a book–I tell you, have your pencil ready for the program. I want you to write down this book. It's pertinent to the Manson-Sharon Tate massacres. It's called Death of a Democracy: Greece and the American Conscience. It's written by Stephen Rousseas. And when Greece was overthrown, the excuse for the Junta to take power and end the electoral process was that there was tension and chaos. And they had to prevent that. They had to prevent the May election.

The man who was running to be the president of Greece was Papandreou who captured the imagination of the young people. Now I'm reading a quote from the book Death of a Democracy:

"...Papandreou captured the imagination of young people and many members of the professional and intellectual classes....He was popular in Greece..." and he was linked psychologically "...with the late President Kennedy." He was "...a man of style and intellect."

And they thought that for the first time in thirty years they would get a program growing where they'd have a democratic government for the first time. And the people in power felt that no one should tamper with their existing institutional structure. And they kept the power and canceled the elections.

Now the edicts in Greece, when Greece was overthrown, were the following: If it was an economic problem, or political problem, like We don't want communists. We got to save you from communists, that's one thing, but the edicts that I noticed in 1967, in April, when Greece was overthrown, and I copied in my newspaper right away–I was reading the daily papers because I was studying power and the exchange of power; the United States had exchanged power. I was studying Greece–I study every country. And these were the edicts:

* No gathering in the open country of more than five persons.
* And no gathering in any close space at all.
* No anti-national propaganda, such as anti-war or anything against a public official.
* No marches or dissensions.

And we will now have what Rousseau describes as a puritan orgy: there would be no beards or long hair on the men. No mini-skirts on the girls. Everyone in Greece had to attend a Sunday church, [including tourists]; Sunday church mandatory. They called it a Christian coup, because the Jews traditionally do not go to church on Sunday. But if you did not go to church on Sunday you could be exiled to an island and arrested. It was similar to the inquisition in Spain. The students were to turn in every old history book they had, and it would be replaced with a new one. Racial purity was proclaimed. And the theories of Darwin and de Vries were thrown out. They were ordered to protect their Christianity, on a public order that was passed in 1942 by the Nazis. It was revived again.

All legitimate theaters were to submit their scripts. Does this sound–I'll end the quote for one minute–does it sound like our own theater where they're asking Powerplay recently in the theater in town here in Carmel, where the director was removed because they wanted to examine the scripts?

Now let's get back to the other book; back to the quotation: They wanted the right to delete scripts or rewrite scripts anywhere from the Greek tragedies to the modern. Every play from antiquity to the present was to be censored. Music would be selected. Bob Dylan, the Beatles wouldn't be allowed at all. No music from Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, any Russian composer, even prior to the Russian Revolution.

And Greek was quickly transformed into the first fascist dictatorship on European soil since Mussolini and Hitler.

Now I looked at those edicts and I knew that the one problem in the United States was going to be a revolution that was coming along in our country. Because, just as I analyzed in 1963, on November 22nd, I said to myself, "Is Jack Ruby in that jail to kill Oswald to silence him?" My brain began to work with what I was reading about the edicts in Greece, because these were not communist edicts, this was a sociological thing.

And I knew in the summer of '67–this was the spring when it was happening–that something very big in the United States was coming to ahead. Because I live in the Peninsula here; I'm close to a movement that was growing: going back and forth from San Francisco to Big Sur, spending my summers at Sur, I could see something really good in a true Judeo-Christian tradition of people making it on, sharing their housing, sharing their food, rapping. And I realized that in this country we had a revolution. There was a revolution of hair-style, clothing, cosmetics, transportation, housing, value system, churches–there was an economic revolution. It effected the cosmetic industry, canned foods, grocery revolution, dietary habits, dwelling, the use of land. No longer needing dwelling; meeting outdoors, no high rent for each separate family; sharing one place. People were delivering their own babies, [instead of] spending $250 for the obstetrician. They were recycling old clothes; going to the Good Will, making their own things, wearing burlap, sharing, doing without, withdrawing from spectator sports or amusements; sitting and watching people throw a pigskin ball back and forth.

These are revolutions. They're revolutions: economic, sociological. They were breaking the boundaries where white and black could rap. They lived together. They slept together. You didn't know somebody's background: if they were rich or poor. You didn't know if they were Jew or Gentile. Those boundaries were thrown out the window in '67. Greece was putting them back, but America was throwing them out the window. And the country club thing was going by the wayside. And zoning laws were ignored; if you have a zoning place in a fancy residential, the children are leaving those homes. They're living where there is no zoning. They are up on the land in the communes. They've left their parents in their big homes and they leave the zoning laws behind; they just split. And real estate values are effected because the kids aren't going to buy the house with the picket fence any longer and live two people in that dwelling.

Now this was an economic, sociological necessity in our system as it existed in terms of capitalists, and whether to survive. That the Rand Corporation and other think tanks in America decide what to do for the United States of America.

And this was the year of the Beatles; it was the summer of Sgt. Pepper, the Monterey Pop, Haight Ashbury, the Renaissance, make your own candle, turn off your electricity, sit–turn on with your friends and rap it over What is life about? The generation was born with an atomic bomb over their head. They weren't going to live long anyway, so there wasn't that much time for hate. And they were really making it. And my car was filled with kids; hitch-hikers everywhere; I picked strangers off the streets. They slept in our home, slept in the yards, too. Monterey Pop came that weekend. We were there everyday and I picked people off the road and our house was filled. It was the most beautiful thing. I still have yard furniture; they all painted chairs and tables and everyone pitched in. It was just–it was human beauty and they were making it together.

But it isn't the way it was meant to be made by U.S. Steel and General Motors and Kaiser Aluminum. They want to sell you your own car, and your own house, and your own washing machine and dryer.

So in my cross-filing system–because you see this is the summer of '67 and I've been on the assassinations for four years–I started a file called Greece, because I didn't watch Greece at all until the coup. But the edicts were–and as I said, Is this a test case of what the United States could do to its people if it had to? Because those edicts were set up very strangely if it were a communist verses a right-wing coup. And I did all of the research right up to the present day; anything that comes about Greece. Marilyn (?) McCurry was on a national television show this morning. I watched her talking about Greece. It's current.

So I watched who overthrew Greece. I watched the Pompus (?) Foundation. We've talked about them on the air. They're the men that siphoned the money–Standard Oil of New Jersey, linked with Richard Nixon, Donald Nixon, Spiro Agnew. Agnew's in Greece today as we talk. And I have a file that started in '67, and every article from all the magazines or books that I could get follows up who overthrew Greece: the Litton Industry, the fascists in this country put those edicts in there. Now if they put them in there and it worked they could put them down on us.

So I have another file, in '67, that I started along with my John Kennedy–because I told you before I have 1600 subject categories of current news–and I started a file called Hippies. Because articles in '67–it was sociological phenomenon–were coming out. And in the envelopes that I have, I began articles like Who recognizes something good in this movement? Who was putting it down? What is their philosophy? Hippies that were interviewed in magazines like Ramparts or New York Times. What are they saying about themselves? What are people saying about them? And I realized that it was going to be stopped some way. Because it was taking hold; It captured the basic good that is in people. And I don't believe in the doctrine of original sin, I believe in original goodness. And these children had it. They have it. Somebody was going to have to get them.

Yesterday's paper had an article that the head of the whole Navy of South Vietnam said You were going to have to rule out sex. They have a Navy of 40,000 men. And he said, You were going to have to rule out sex. It's decadent. If you want to fight the communists you've got to stop that. You're a bunch of filthy worms, he said. The head of the Navy, of Vietnam, said in order to really fight the communists you've got to stop you're sexual activity, the Navy [in Vietnam] was told yesterday.

Now these are the same people: Mr. Key(?) and the fascists, and the same people in Greece, and the people in South Vietnam, who are coming down on the kids. Their sexual fantasies, their fears that their kids could do what they never could do. I'd like to do a whole show on sexual repressions and fascism and coming down.

So in the summer of '67, '68, I know that the hippies were being handed out–I had a friend I met who worked at the Diggers, and they were being handed bad acid by disguised agent provocateurs, to begin to burn their bellies out and rob their minds. [And that's the way] the Diggers were [being treated] up there. This can be documented. And I know that the federal government were throwing things out at pop festivals. And they allowed people like Melvin Belli–that worked with Jack Ruby–was the man in on the Altamont thing. That brings the pressure. And we'll go on to that some other day; on pop festivals and music, and what happened to the music scene, and the musicians at the Monterey Pop.

So I was watching how the hippie scene would be put down and what evidence there was that they had to crack it. And in my neighborhood–I've mentioned on two different programs–a man moved in from Texas. I think he gets tired of my talking about this, this is the last time I'll mention him. He was dressed as a hippie. He wasn't a hippie. He brought his children into this community. He lived a block from my house. He wrote a book for Henry Kaiser called Children of Change. I'm repeating for somebody who hasn't heard the show. A non-hippie from Texas, he lived here for about one or two years, walking down the coast, going the music scene. And wrote, just prior to the Sharon Tate murders, that "the hippies would have made it..." –this is what Henry Kaiser published– "...would have made it if, number one: they had a sense of humor. And number two: they weren't so violent.

Now, if anybody had a sense of humor that generation did. Because there wasn't much to be funny about–the way the Cold War was going after Korea and everything like that. And I have a button collection. People who've been to my home see it. I started this around those years, and I have a whole wall with thousands of buttons. And it's funny. And they did have a sense of humor. The kids were beautiful. And they laughed. And there were very funny things. If you read the button it says sociological things. I [have] the sense of humor of that generation. And I collected the car bumpers for a while–the stickers–but it got too expensive, so I save the buttons.

They did have a sense of humor and there was no violence. There was no violence at all. And this same particular man referred to his wife and hippie-women as witches. And she wasn't a witch. She was a very establishment Texas girl who is the wife of a man, this man that was dressed as a hippie–I said before. He is now at the Navy post-graduate school. He's Navy, he had to be Navy intelligence. How did he get into the Navy post-graduate school if his undergraduate school was a hippie on Big Sur road, back and forth on the highway?

So this particular man: he had his gun and his scopes and his knives and things. And I watched, and there was no massacre. And I was watching the phenomena. How was our government going to handle it?

Now in the summer of 1969 there was a murder in Hollywood, California in which Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Mr. Frokowski, Abigail Folger, Steve Parent, Mr. and Mrs. La Bianca were stabbed forty-four times. The newspaper did not know who did the murders, but it read in my mind like a military ambush. It could be no other way. And it was described by people later as a military ambush. And for the reasons as this: these many people were slaughtered. Nobody heard a sound. There were dogs on the grounds that didn't say boo. There was a caretaker in a guest cottage who didn't hear one gun go off, and guns went off. They didn't hear any screaming. Nobody saw a getaway car. the place was completely destroyed. There was time to put hoods over the people, ropes on their neck, leave signs and symbols that would come down on a particular group of our society–two groups–and split. And no, not a dog was killed or barked. And the fellow that lives on the grounds said he slept through it. And the telephone poles–they shimmied up the poles, cut the wires, left all this obvious evidence, and split. And the way the wires and the lines were cut I felt that it had to be a military type ambush.

Now the total effect was to appear, or want to appear that if they didn't catch the murderers of these people they would come down on the blacks–that was their hope.

Now it's very interesting in my research on the assassinations that the very first man to publish an article on the Sharon Tate murder in my collection of the murders, before they had a suspect–the murders were in August, and they found the suspects in December–was a man named Ed Butler. In October '69 he wrote an article. The man who publishes the newspaper that he writes for is Patrick Frawley of Schick Razor and Technicolor, who is one of the third largest supporters of Richard Nixon–a far right-wing person. And he hires Ed Butler to write articles for him. And Ed is an agent provocateur who worked with Lee Harvey Oswald in New Orleans. And when Oswald had the cover story that he was a communist because he didn't want to get into Cuba if he could, Ed Butler made a record for him when Oswald said he was a member of the Fair Play for Cuba [Committee]. And he was the only member of the New Orleans area, and Ed Butler knew it. Ed Butler worked with Lee Harvey Oswald, so it's interesting that in 1969 the first person who has an opinion on who murdered these seven people would be Ed Butler; In my collection of articles we have Ed Butler. Now, what is this article called? It says Did Hate Kill Tate? And he goes into the fact that the Black Panthers are tied into the communists, and the evidence is that the Panthers killed these people to come into the middle class America and spread terror.

Now this is what we call provocateurs, agent provocateurs, clandestine governments: where somebody is the first one in, and he's tied with all these other people and links. And he is taking your brain now and your gray matter. In the event they don't have a suspect, he is saying here are the clues:

Number one, the hood over the draped bodies–was it a turn about for the Ku Klux Klan?

Number two, the rope found around their bodies, strung body to body is ironic reminder to lynchings.

Number three, the words "death to pigs" that were scrawled with the human blood over the front door–was that a challenge to Blue Meanies?

Remember the Beatles made a movie about Blue Meanies. He's throwing the whole thing in.

And number four, Time magazine quoted an article that Jay Sebring was supposed to be anti-black.

So you see that Ed Butler has you in the palm of his hand. If they don't have a suspect, you're going to think that the blacks come into fancy residential homes and massacre these lovely white people.

To make that even worse, when the people were arrested they admitted on their own volition that they took the credit cards from Mr. and Mrs. La Bianca after they cut their bellies open and stuck–they went to the ice box to eat, and then took their forks and stuck their forks in their stomachs. They took out their credit cards and left them in the black part of town in Los Angeles so the people would think the blacks killed the Biancas.

To back up my own feelings they–every word from what these people said afterward confirms what I knew they were doing. They were coming down on–they could come down on two groups, one for sure. And if they're caught they'll come down on the second. So the first group was to press fear that the blacks are now in our part of town, that they're communists, they hate the rich.

And Ed Butler goes into their motives, and he says, well, one of the things is that Mr. Polanski is an ex-patriot from communist Poland, and we know the Panthers are communists. And he said the hate and propaganda they have will make other people want to continue these murders. He said that the Panthers were doing this kind of murdering to test the stomach of America for future violence. Ed Butler: the authority on riots. He comes out all the time in the news. And he said that they are–what he wants to see is how many of these massacres people will take. He's convinced that the blacks did this murder. But he is covered because when the actual facts came out it turns out that it wasn't the blacks at all. So what are you left with now? You're left with a hippie group. You're left with this great hippie clan. And this is where the real problem comes in, because, as I said before, and I'll say it over and over today, Charles Manson was not a hippie.

Now, when they arrested Charles Manson, Sue Atkins was in jail for stealing some parts to an automobile, and the chicks squealed. The police department didn't even have any clue in this murder at all. They didn't even want it. I know the Los Angeles Police Department didn't want to find them. But the particular girl broke down in jail and told another woman–and that's how they were found. The police department did not find them. Just like the FBI did not find James Earl Ray. Scotland Yard did it. When he just had one foot on the plane and one foot to Rhodesia where he would never be extradited, Scotland Yard did it. The FBI didn't do it.

So, what happened was that the police had to go to where the Manson Family lived. And what did they find there? They found what the newspaper described as a ritualistic killing done by self-confessed hippies, in what they called a military-style commune.

Now, how–first the news media should define hippie; the word hippie. Because the hippies that I knew from '67 to '69 didn't mean a military operation in any sense of the word, nor in anybody else's mind in the world. Nor did it to the Rand Corporation, or the President of the United States, or John Mitchell. Hippie did not mean military; it was anti-military. It was anti-war. It was let's get it together generation.

So when they found the real killer and he has this beard and guitar, we just can't call him an ex-convict. They have to call it a military-style commune. We must have military-style communes in Vietnam if a commune is where people all live together and you're military; it's a military commune. But it certainly isn't a hippie commune. But they have to make it a hippie thing.

Now what did they have in the commune? They had shacks with the lookout points. They had telescopes. They had walkie-talkies. They had military field telephones. They had collections of knives and shotguns. They had four-wheel drive [dune buggies]. The neighbors turned them in for threatening them. They drove all night and made so much noise and the neighbors said, You know you're–you keep us awake. And they said, Oh, we'll kill you if you don't shut up. They threatened their lives.

And then the news media picked up right away that evidently the crime had all the marks of premeditation. And they mentioned then that the telephone wires were cut at the Tate home. I remember that in August, but in December when they were discovered, they went into the shears and the problem of the weapons.

Now Sheriff Tom Montgomery of Colin County in Texas was taking care of his cousin at that time that the police came into this little commune where Sue Atkins was talking [about]. Cousin Charles 'Tex' Watson was safe in Texas. He was watched by this first cousin of his. He was described as clean cut, short hair. He was living a happy life. His girlfriend testified they were having pleasant sexual relationships. He was normal in every sense of the word. Those seven massacres that he did didn't seem to bother him at all. He didn't even mention them to her. He was not mentally sick. He was not depressed. He had a good job. And when Charles Manson and the others were arrested in Los Angeles they put this young boy, Charles Watson, in the jail with his cousin to take care of him.

Now we're going into Who was Charles Manson?

GLORIA: All right, well do that in just a moment. You're listening to Dialogue: Assassination, with Mae Brussell. This is KLRB, stereo FM, Carmel by the Sea.

(End of first half)

MAE: Now, we're going to talk briefly about Charles Manson and Charles Watson, and the implications in this particular case, and how I follow it and why it's of interest to me. Because every case beyond what the news media tells you, you're looking for facts. You're looking–like in the Oswald case, they tell you that Oswald was a communist, or he was a misfit in society. But then when I see my documents, that he had cameras and walkie-talkies, and electronic devices, security clearances–then I want to know more about Lee Harvey Oswald. And I want to know more about Charles Manson because he was thirty-two and did spend twenty-two years of his life in jail.

Now a prominent attorney by the name of George Shibley who works with groups in the Middle East–in Beverly Hills, has powerful connections–met with Charles Manson just before he got out of jail in Treasure Island. And no one will know what conversation transpired between Mr. Shibley, or why he was up there. Or why Charles Manson is unknown, this illegitimate child of a sixteen year-old girl, no family or kin. No one would know how Charles Manson would get such a famous Beverly Hills attorney to visit him before he's paroled. No one will ever know the conversation that transpired between those men. But what we do know is that when Charles Manson got out of Treasure Island in 1967, at the height of the Haight Ashbury scene, he got a bus, a large bus–and he did not buy it. He did not have a job, and he had credit cards for gasoline. Now in the trial some subject was made up that one of the girls stole a credit card from her family to buy Charley gasoline. I am sure the parents would have had him arrested before long; you can't go for two years on a stolen credit card. Charley was never arrested. And one of the questions in one of the articles I have is, it simply said: He had a credit card. And in order to do a study of a covert operation, or a murder, or a simple murder: who paid the gasoline for Charley Manson?

Now I know being locked up for twenty-two years and with a strong sexual drive you may have–it may be fun to have twenty or thirty chicks around you, but they still have to eat, they still have to have housing. Who was buying the machine guns, the walkie-talkies, the dune buggies? He was on the edge of the Mohave Desert. They didn't steal all of it; none of them were hardly ever arrested for anything. They have parts of expensive cars. They had material things that are warfare things, and they didn't ever get arrested. And the gasoline–once in a while as punishment the girls would have to go out and take food out of garbage cans–that was their punishment for maybe not sleeping with Charlie or a guest or something like that. But for the most part none of them suffered any malnutrition; they had healthy babies; they seemed to be doing very well; they had guests at the ranch.

Where was this money coming from, from the day he left that jail until the Sharon Tate murders? Just like I follow the money from the James Ray case: from the day he left the Missouri jail he went right to a trailer the first night that was open. There was wine there. There was everything but the welcome sign, and maybe that was there. And within a day he had a car. Pretty soon he was on his way up to Canada or a resort motel and fancy place.

Where did the money come from the time Charley Manson was in jail until the Sharon Tate murder?

Now we go to Charles Watson: This was a clean cut boy who did these murders. He came from Texas. And the question was Where was he approached? How did he get into this case? Was it of his own volition?

Last week on the Monterey Peninsula there was an article in the paper that a boy was picked up as a hitch-hiker in Santa Cruz. And he was thrown out of the car near the highlands, and we talked about that a littler bit on this show. And he was almost killed. And the subject of the conversation was that one of the four men who just about killed him was–he said, "I'm from the Manson Family in Texas." And that caught my interest because something very big in the planning stage of this particular massacre took place in the state of Texas.

So I went to Community Hospital to discuss with this boy–this boy attended five years of College and the American system of education. He was about to go into the Peace Corp and go to the Philippines the next week. He was almost dead out at Community Hospital after just going down our beautiful coast and being picked up and roughed up by somebody who claimed to be from the Manson Family in Texas.

Now we don't know much–because it's never brought out at these trials–about the background of Charles Watson, except that he did appear with a beard and became part of the Manson Family. But when Charles Manson was arrested, a law firm sent two lawyers who went to Texas to see this particular boy, Charles Watson. And Judge Brown, Judge David Brown, said to the lawyers from Beverly Hills, California, "You take the next plane back to California. That I will put you in jail for seventy-two hours or fine you if you don't get back to California." And the lawyers said, "Well, wait a minute, that's our client. We want to see him." The lawyer that wanted to see Charles Watson was named Mr. DeLoach. And he called a press conference at a Dallas Hotel. And DeLoach said this at the press conference, he said, "I came to see my client." That Charles Watson had been in his office in Los Angeles, California thirty or forty times prior to the killing of Sharon Tate and the other six people in Los Angeles. DeLoach said he was–his own background was that he was a Republican candidate for the State Assembly in 1964, and he was chairman for the Young Republicans, and he belonged to a law firm on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles. At the jail to keep Mr. DeLoach from seeing Charles Watson were twenty Texas highway patrolmen and sheriff's deputies guarding him. And they fought the extradition for eight months.

Now when you're talking about conspiracies, or going into every avenue that has to be developed in the course for his defense that Charley Manson masterminded him; programmed them; that the hippie-youth magic, a Satan kind of thing to control him; to use his knife to kill these people. That prior to that time, prior to meeting Manson, he was not involved in any kind of violence or altercation.

Now, I have seen no record, publicly, that Mr. Watson had a traffic violation or any kind of problem. That this twenty year-old boy needed an attorney from the Young Republican Committee forty times. I know what the expenses are to meet with any attorney, even for one hour. And people use attorneys or public defenders if they have small altercations. But to go to a prominent law office of a man named Mr. DeLoach thirty to forty times prior to the time that you're going to kill seven people is worth investigating. And it's particularly worth investigating because the boy isn't even really considered a criminal or a murderer. When the trial for Charley Manson took place this boy was in Texas and he didn't even–they fought the extradition so he–and later wouldn't be associated as part of that clan but as the robot or the product of that society.

Now the psychiatrist claims that when the decision was made to remove Charles Watson to California, that he became a catatonic, schizophrenic vegetable in a fetal position. Eight months in Texas he was doing just fine; he didn't lose a pound, he didn't lose a night's sleep, he was just having a good time. And when the decision came to bring him to California he became very sick. And now they have said–the prosecution claims that he was faking this; that when the psychiatrist looked the other way he would take a different posture, and he would talk to people. And the jury has been out for two days trying to decide if Charles Watson was guilty of those murders. They have to deliberate two days when it is common knowledge that he was in the homes; he did the murders. And Manson was never in the homes where seven people were killed.

Now if that isn't a topsy-turvy, crazy world I don't know what it is.

Now how did you–how does your mind get effected to only associate the murder with one man, and let the other man get off the hook like this? I'm going to read headlines from this particular case, just for a few days in December, the way they were reading, coming off the press.

The first article I told you [about] was in October '69: Did Hate Kill Tate? That was the first opinion about who did it by Ed Butler.

In November there was a very objective article saying The Grand Jury is to End the Probe of these 7 Deaths. That they don't know what to do.

Now, in December they began to describe Watson as a, in quotes "man". They called him a man. And that Manson was the hippie, that guru Satan that influenced the man. the man did the killings, and that hippie guru Satan influenced him.

They have on December 2nd that Nomadic hippies in the Tate murders.

December the 3rd: 3 Suspects in Tate Case Tied to Guru.

December the 4th: Accused Killers Live Nomad Life with Magnetic Guru.

December the 4th another paper said: Hypnotic Killers - Hippie Bands, They're Controlled by an Evil Genius.

Another headline: Father Became a Hippie, Looking for Sharon Tate Clues. Sharon Tate's father, dressed as a hippie looked around with drug addicts and vagabonds for four months. He was in Army Intelligence. And he was looking for hippies who killed his daughter.

Another headline–These are headlines, not sentences from the articles: A Move to Indict God.

Another headline: The D.A. Asks Hippie-cult Indictment.

Another one: Inside the Desert-cult Hideout - Family Members Talk of Black Magic, Sex, Murder.

You see, the headline is putting all of these things in your heads, but it's not telling you, like the early articles, about the military type of killing that it was.

Another headline: Charles Manson - Nomadic Guru, Flirted with Crime.

Another one: Hippie Family Member Describes the Murder.

Another describes the murders as bizarre, twisted.

Cult Leader Plotted the War Between the Races – The cult leader.

Mystic Hippie... in quotes ...Used Dune Buggies Mounted with Machine Guns to Trigger a Negro vs. White War.

Another headline: Hippie Satan Clan is Indicted.

Talk of Cult Leader Arraigned in Slayings.

Another headline: Leader of a Hippie Cult Held in Isolated Cell.

Hippie Leader in Tate Case in Maximum Security. If they want to say the alleged murderer is in maximum security, he's the hippie leader in security. He's the hippie leader in an isolated cell.

Another article: The Hippie Mystique

Another one: The Love and Terror Cult, The Dark Edge of Hippie Life

Life magazine published a cover of Lee Harvey Oswald holding a gun. The shadows–the discrepancies of the murder are horrendous. They implant in your mind, this in the boy: This is the gun. None of it was true. Life magazine had a cover of James Earl Ray. This poverty-ridden, depressed prisoner who killed Martin Luther King. They said he was an orphan. None of that was true. Remember, his family was–his father was living. I mean all of that was untrue.

Life magazine December the 19th: Large cover of Charley Manson's eyes all blown up. Not in Texas. Not wanting to understand the American phenomena of hostility behind a blue suit and a white shirt and a neck tie and short hair–the killer. Not wanting to know how the Whitman boy is killed; how the college people kill. The brain children, one of the brightest children in this town–Charles Watson. Nobody's doing psychological, sociological studies on the actual killers. No. Life magazine has a cover of Manson. Nobody would sleep at night or give a kid on the road a ride if and when you saw Manson's eyes. Not a chance. They call it Love and Terror Cult.

Then Richard Nixon comes into the act: headline: Here a man is guilty or indirectly of 8 months without reason. They hadn't even come to a verdict in the trial. Richard Nixon was in on the act. John Mitchell got into the act.

Then–headline: Manson's Race Theory Rested on the Beatles. Then began a long attack on the Beatles.

Now those are the headlines of one month in December. That went on for one year. And the consequence is in Carmel Valley or in down to Big Sur. How many people would you pick up today? How many people do you put in your car? Or give a lift to? Or take into your home? Who would you trust? Who is disguised as a hippie with a knife that is going to come down on you?

I was in my neighbor's home across the street from me one day and we were talking about something, and a man from the police force in Seaside–a black man–had come there, and he didn't know who I was. And we were rapping. And he had been down at Lime Kiln Creek and he had lived with hippies for two weeks, and smoked their grass, and probably enjoyed the sex and the relationships and the vibe. And he was going home; he was on his way home to Seaside to clean and shave, and go down and make a bust on those people, dressed as a hippie. Beard–he was going to take his beard off. I have seen it. I've lived with it. You can't give a lift, because the agent provocateurs, the covert government is working. It's working in our city. And I can say it works on a national scale.

You read in the paper yesterday, maybe, how much of the Pentagon Papers is not being published and why it's being withheld. And the large part of it is the covert relationship to Vietnam, the agents in disguise in Laos, or in Vietnam; our hidden war. The Manson thing is a hidden war. It's a hidden war against the youth, and it worked. If you take enough agents and give [kids] blades, or give them money, or give them the assurance that if they're arrested they'll get off, they will mess up–these kids.

Somebody came to my home a few weeks ago who had hitch-hiked across the country, and it was really scary. And he went to some town in Idaho. And this sheriff says, "Oh, did we have fun last night: we took this nigger-hippie and tied him up and dumped him in the river and got rid of him forever." And this is what I am hearing because I am talking about these things, and when I talk I get a feedback. And people come to me and say, "Right on. This is what's happening."

So, I'm just showing you: if you multiply one month of headlines and you sat with my collection, or somebody that just published how the news media comes down on you.

Now, who were the lawyers involved in these cases? How do they overlap? Joseph Ball, from the Warren Commission, was in with Sue Atkins: the girl who's to turn state evidence. A man named Lawrence Schiller made a record with Jack Ruby on January the 2nd,1967, in which Ruby said there was no conspiracy to kill Oswald; that he was not a part of a conspiracy. And it was made for Capital Records. Capital Records. And this man, I knew that Ruby then would be dead within days because it was now recorded for history there was no conspiracy. No one could see Jack Ruby except Capital Records. The only person who could see–Lawrence Schiller was with him.

January the 4th, two days later, Ruby was dead. The morning I read that in my paper that Capital Records got into that hospital room and got this recording of Ruby's voice, I knew then that now Ruby could leave this earth. You see, it's all down for posterity.

Now this same Lawrence Schiller is the man who gave Sue Atkins a $150,000 to turn the state's evidence to say that Manson masterminded the murders. She made $150,000. It was described as an unusual legal trick. Joseph Ball, who worked with the Warren Commission, was with parties involved in the Sharon Tate massacre. George Shibley, who worked with Sirhan–and McKissick was in his office–they worked with the Sirhan case. They were in on the Sharon Tate case. The lawyers overlap.

Now, Lawrence Schiller wrote a book about the Sharon Tate massacres. And this is the way his book starts. He paid this huge amount to Sue Atkins to turn state's evidence, and I'm going to read you what he had to say. I read you what Ed Butler said, who worked with Oswald. Here is Schiller, he said:

"Where did it all start? We can see them going to San Francisco with flowers in their hair. They're flower children. The Haight Ashbury hippie, linked together in the history of the Americas of 1960."

I'm going to stop the quote now to say this is where we started this hour. That I began in '67 with those flower children and started a file in my filing system on the flower children, knowing that within two to three years everything would break down on their heads. Now, it's interesting that Lawrence Schiller begins his book:

Where did it all start? We see them on the road. Those flower...

He said:

...a movement which sprang from multiple revolutions of the sixties. The new morality. The revolt of youth. The middle-class watched them. Relieved, happy to be spectators. When the Sharon Tate murders happened, because it was two out-groups that fell on each other.

The people that were making it with their loose sex, he implies, and the drugs. It was two out-groups hitting at each other.

Now he goes into:

"...the youth of today swallowed the precepts of their forbearers until this time. But mass communication changed everything, and changed our youth. They traveled, they had experiences, information, money. And how could you bring people inundated with facts of life to believe the puritan ethic."

I'm going to digress again; stop the quote. We talked about Greece. I was watching Greece for two years. I was watching the hippies. Here is Lawrence Schiller in on the thick of everything, telling you, just where I was two years earlier watching how it was going to come down. Now we're getting back to his quotations:

"...Young people having rejected the ethics, rejected the laws which were based upon them. And they were ripe for new liberation."

And then he perverts the whole thing and says:

"...When Charley Manson came along, our chemical messiah. And the essence of their lives were anti-establishment. They had thrown down the puritan ethics, the laws."

He implies they could become lawless and amoral and throw around their sex and their bodies, and they latched on to what he called the chemical messiah. Now who bought the LSD and the chemicals? Did our government pay Charley's way? His bus? His gas? Was he a chemical messiah, or is he designed out of Texas? Or Mussel Sholes, Alabama, where everything else is assigned, and the lawyers are sent? Who designed Charley Manson? Lawrence Schiller is telling you he's a chemical messiah. I'm saying somebody bought his chemistry. He didn't–it wasn't all handed to him. And the government brought it to him and put on his costume; his leather coat and his guitar, and said, "Charley, get on the road."

Now Schiller says Manson drifted into the hippie scene. And he admits he's another ex-con seeking protective coloration from the hippies. I claim he was an ex-con who went into the hippie scene to pick up the jargon, to do a job like the mafia does a job; like we do in Vietnam: like a soldier goes out to kill. We send boys out to Fort Ord for a six weeks training, chanting "Kill the commies". They pick up the jargon of the jungle because they're gonna be in the jungle. They didn't arrive that way, we teach them the jargon. And Charley Manson was taught because he was gonna pretend to be a hippie. He hated being called a hippie–the book mentions it. He disliked being called a hippie.

So they put him in a beat up school bus and they called it the Manson Family and they headed south. And Manson learned to play the guitar, and to sing, and write music. And that was his last occupation. This is what he was trained for in the federal prison. Lawrence Schiller tells you in a federal prison they rehabilitate you to go out on the street. And they bought Charley a guitar. And he had an inkling for music, and he was a natural. He's probably horny as hell and wanting to get on the road anyway, he had all this hostility. He said, "I did it because I wanted to make it look like the blacks were doing it. I want to speed [up] a race war." He's violently anti-black. And he could sing a song and carry a tune. He had the natural hatred. And he loved the chicks. And he was just perfect for the role; he was just ripe for it.

Now, Schiller went on that his livelihood, when they let him out of prison, was that he was going to be a musician. Now, "...Within a year..." Lawrence Schiller says, "...Charley Manson was out of prison mingling with the Hollywood stars in 1968. And the Manson Family somehow was making it with the establishment. And they were going to be part of Hollywood's plushest parties." Now Lawrence Schiller is telling you that a year later Charley is right in there with the biggest people of all. Now that's pretty interesting considering the lawyer that he saw before he got out of Treasure Island, and the lawyer that Tex Watson is seeing before these crimes are committed. That these boys were wined and dined in the music scene, in the art scene by certain people before the massacres took place. Now, Lawrence Schiller said, "...In a true sense the Manson Family weren't hippies at all. Manson didn't like being called a hippie, either." Well I guarantee Lawrence Schiller that the hippies didn't like it either. He knows they didn't, he said the hippies didn't like it. I know they didn't. It ended everything that was really good that was coming down. And then he concludes the introduction to his book on Sharon Tate saying, "It was a strange Satanic whim that sent those people into Benedict Canyon." And I claim it was more than a Satanic whim, but that the book that Mr. Kaiser puts out in Oakland, and advertises in Esquire magazine, and the use of this word Satan and witchcraft is a conceived program disguises covert government to come down on this generation. And it has succeeded. And nobody really feels safe in the area or around the country. And the effect that they wanted has happened, you see.

Now, I just gave a sentence from an article, a few, last week. And I'm going back to conclude with a few remarks of Marshal Singer. It was an article that was printed in April, 1970:

Observations on the Sharon Tate massacre and Charley Manson, and he says ...Charley Manson is certainly an enigmatic. Is he a victim or a monster? He's equal parts of Charley Chaplan and Jack the Ripper. He had been arrested thirty-seven times in his thirty-five years.

And Manson said:

I'll tell you I'm not from your society. I've spent most of my life in a world of bars and solitary confinement. And my philosophy comes from underneath the boots and the sticks and the clubs that they beat people with, who come from the wrong side of tracks. And people like me are society's scapegoats.

And this is James Ray, the same thing: society's scapegoats.

Jack Ruby is society's scapegoat. He can be used. He's Jewish. He's poor. He's kicked around by the anti-Semitics, the rich oil people. He's used when they want. He's stepped on when he wants. He is just a pushed-around kid who wanted to make it in this world and be recognized as just what he is. And always carrying this heavy load of anti-Semitism, an underdog, playing a game with the military and the mafia and the oil people for approval and affection: "If I do your work will you love me now?" The minute he shot Oswald, Jack Ruby said, "I wanted to prove to them that I had guts." And he took the challenge.

And Manson is saying, "People like me are society's scapegoats." Now the article by Marshall Singer goes on to say that Lawrence Schiller got the confession of this Atkins girl. She was twenty-one and pretty and she would say that she was victimized by Manson. And how she had to hold Sharon Tate in her arms so 'Tex' Charles Watson could stab this particular female who was pregnant and all the other people.

Now, Manson had a lot of hostility. He tells you he was kicked around. His plans were to assemble these dune buggies and have an armada against the pigs, against the black people, against the cops; he would kill cops. He'd been arrested all these times. He'd been in isolation. He would kill them, but he would make it look like blacks did it. And he would be getting even with blacks and cops at the same time. And he hoped to wipe out both groups that he hated so much.

The article does say that in the early sixties we had our own magical potions, and we had a handsome young president who held out promises. And when he was killed a lot of the dreams went away. And when people like Manson break in with us it is a reality too complex and to banal to understand.

Now, in one hour it's hard for me to really rap up the complexity of this because each week we talk about the covert government, the overthrow, change in the economic system. This is what the Sharon Tate massacre is about. And I hope that in this one brief hour you can understand how minds all over the world can be effected by killing just seven people, and perverting the news media everyday and every hour to keep this image going; where the truth of the murders is different than what the news is saying.

GLORIA: Thank you, Mae. I don't see how you got it in one hour, but you seem to do it. Thank you.

MAE: Okay.
