San Francisco's Toxic Sludge - It's Good for You!

Source: Organic Consumers Association, February 8, 2010 (http://www.organicconsumers.org/sludge.cfm) Fifteen years ago, CMD's book Toxic Sludge Is Good for You! (http://www.prwatch.org/books/tsigfy.html) first exposed the hidden government and industry PR (http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=public_relations) campaign greenwashing (http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=greenwashing) toxic sewage sludge (http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=sewage_sludge) as "biosolids (http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=biosolids)," an invented PR euphemism used to cynically re-brand toxic waste as "fertilizer" (http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=You_say_biosolids,_I_say_sewage_sl udge) given free to farmers. Today, unfortunately, the biosolids scam is bigger than ever. The Organic Consumers Association (http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Organic_Consumers_Association) (OCA) reports (http://www.organicconsumers.org/sludge.cfm) that "San Francisco has come up with an ingenious plot to trick city residents into taking their toxic sewage sludge back and disposing of it in their own gardens. San Francisco is having Synagro, the corporate giant of the toxic sludge industry (http://www.sludgenews.org/industry/sludge.aspx?id=11), 'compost' some of the toxic sewage sludge. Then they give it away to San Francisco's gardeners telling us it's 'high-quality, nutrient-rich, organic Biosolids Compost.' " OCA has launched a grassroots campaign (http://capwiz.com/grassrootsnetroots/issues/alert/?alertid=14646196) calling on San Francisco's mayor to stop the practice, noting "municipal sewage sludge (http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=sewage_sludge) routinely contains thousands of dangerous pathogens, toxic heavy metals, flame retardants, endocrine disruptors, carcinogens, pharmaceutical drugs and other hazardous chemicals coming from residential drains, storm water runoff, hospitals, and industrial plants."

I think that is the same thing gardners put on the Whitehouse garden so that Michelle Obama organic vegie patch can't really be classified as organic. :eating: Bon apetit!

I think that is the same thing gardners put on the Whitehouse garden so that Michelle Obama organic vegie patch can't really be classified as organic. :eating: Bon apetit!

Ranting out of an orifice not designed for speech, Rush Limbaugh once farted:

“Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?”

Therefore, I look forward to the day when the Project for a New American Century and various other neo-fascist organs decide to market pure neocon shit, dumped by the likes of the Bush family, lil' Dick Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz et al, and matured through the years.

The sales pitch could be:

"Forget all that ghetto shit. And cow shit. Insist on the very best, grade-A, neocon shit. It even smells good."

After all, these are the guys who told us Saddam Hussein was involved in 9/11, so They believe there's nothing They can't sell...

Sadly, OH SO SADLY!, if they could sell the unPatriot Act and it is still in force; if they could sell two wars based on lies; if they could torture and lie and do renditions and they still continue; if 9-11 was a false-flag op that 'flew'; if they could steal all the remaining Nation's wealth into the pocket of a few and laugh at it.....then who is to say where really is the power of the neocon....
