"Wind Chases the Sun" is the documentary film telling the story of political prisoner, Leonard Peltier, who was wrongfully convicted of murder in the mid 1970's.

Between the years of 1973 and 1975, over sixty Native Americans were murdered during the "Reign of Terror" on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. On June 26, 1975, tensions erupted with a shootout on the Jumping Bull Ranch between FBI and American Indian Movement members resulting in the deaths of two FBI agents and one American Indian.

In 1977, Indian Activist, Leonard Peltier was convicted for the murder of the two agents and since has served thirty-five years in Federal prison. Despite proof that he was convicted on a combination of fabricated and suppressed evidence as well as false testimony, he continues to languish behind bars.

Preston Randolph, along with his research crew is the driving force behind the documentary script. Accumulating hands-on knowledge, garnered from extensive research and interviews, Randolph exposes new and highly relevant information concerning the atrocities of the Peltier case, to aid viewers in finding the truth.

Where can I learn more about the film?

Please visit our official website, www.windchasesthesun.com (http://www.windchasesthesun.com/)! There you can find a full synopsis of the story, filmmaker and crew bios, news, as well as photos from production.

What are we doing?

We are trying to raise enough money to progress forward in the final stages of pre-production. We are looking to have the film released in mid-late 2012 and have a major impact in exposing this case to the world, and eventually playing a role in Leonard Peltier's release.

We are on indiegogo.com to raise a minimum of $8,000 so we can continue to make great progress in our fight to expose this case and free Leonard Peltier. If supporters give at least $5 then we will far exceed our goal of $8,000.

On facebook alone we have 4,800 supporters. If only 1,600 of them give $5 then we hit $8,000
1600 x $5 = $8,000

Can we exceed the goal?

YES! $8,000 is the minimum amount we need to raise on indiegogo.com. We would like to raise much more. Exceeding our goal of $8,000 would allow us to make greater progress in finishing the pre-production stages of "Wind Chases the Sun" and entering actual production. Indiegogo.com allows us to raise as much money as we can before the deadline ends.

When I pledge money to the film, do I get anything in return?

YES! We have separated pledge amounts, so at each level you receive new rewards. Please look to the right and see the different incentives you receive for each pledge level.

Who does the money go to?

Every penny of the money raised will go directly to the "Wind Chases the Sun" movie budget -i.e. Your money goes directly to the funding of this film.

I'm not in the U.S. can I still pledge to projects?

Yes. You can pledge from anywhere.

How can we contact you?

Please feel free to contact us through our website www.windchasesthesun.com (http://www.windchasesthesun.com/) or email cactusproductionsfilms@gmail.com and we will get back to you very quickly.

Thanks for the heads-up Magda,

I thought I would post up a free link to "Incident at Oglala".

Watch here (http://www.snagfilms.com/films/watch/incident_at_oglala_the_leonard_peltier_story/?utm_source=snagfilms.com&utm_medium=referral)

SURPRISE:

They also have this short piece about the Coast Miwok of Sonoma County in Northern California, and their struggle to open a casino there. This clip shows Greg Jiminez, who is my first wifes nephew. He relates the story of my wifes grandmother, who was too afraid to say she was an Indian because of the prejudice involved. The family didn't know they were Miwok until after grandmothers death. They always thought they were Mexican(well grandpa Slim was 100% Irish) lol.

This was a nice surprise........
