Don Jeffries Rear Ended Auto Accident - Don Jeffries - 26-09-2015

I just found this thread, so forgive me for not posting earlier. Thanks for the kind comments.

I am fine physically, but look over my shoulder even more than ever now. It was my first auto accident, in over 40 years of driving. The kid at the wheel was probably just texting and being careless, but this kind of thing happens way too often, and it tends to happen to people like me, and not those who write "safe" books.

In the aftermath of my accident, I was shocked (and frightened) to learn that important researcher and author Dave McGowan had suddenly, and I do mean suddenly, developed a very deadly form of cancer. A few months later, and according to his brother Craig, he really has very little time left. We're talking Jack Ruby-style galloping cancer. Dave is younger than me, and again this is a sober reminder of the cost that seems to come with doing this kind of work.

Could my accident have been just that? Of course. Could Dave have just gotten cancer like so many others do? Of course. But then what about writer Nick Bryant, who wrote the Introduction to Dave's book and wrote his own book about the Franklin child sex scandal? According to Craig McGowan, Nick was diagnosed with cancer at the same time as his brother, and was in the Mayo Clinic. I can find no further updates about him, but he appears to be well enough to tweet.

My book Hidden History is filled with accounts of unnatural deaths of those who threatened the rich and powerful in some way. Thus, it was quite sobering to confront my own mortality that night, as I stood there dumbfounded on the side of the road, desperately hoping I'd suffered no internal injuries. It truly becomes surreal when it's your own experience you are scrutinizing.

Ironically, I've been asked by several interviewers if I have had death threats, or whether I fear for my life. Knowing what has happened to others, it's impossible not to have that cross your mind. But as I told them, if we have to be scared of being killed for giving our opinions, or stating simple historical truth, then we've already lost. Someone has to stand up and say what needs to be said.

Don, I'm glad you are OK physically. I'm a bit surprised to hear that you don't seem to seem to know anything more definitive about the who or why of the rear-ending. Yes, I'd agree from my own experience that while one can't tell in most specific cases, generally strange events disproportionately seem to happen to those who question/challenge the status quo. I've had more than my own share of very very strange 'events' over the decades - one quite recently - I do not consider a chance event, as the police automatically did. Those of these events that are fabricated accidents/cancers/heart attacks/deaths/etc. serve to warn the average person to not 'venture there' - and just keep their 'fingers on their places in the script given to them'. Glad a few are not turned away no matter what the objective or perceived risks......

Jonathan Elinoff was lucky to survive a car crash during his Pat Sullivan investigation, when his car was hit by a vehicle side on out of the blue when he was driving to an arranged meeting. The driver of the second vehicle fled on foot and was never found by the cops. To this day he has suspicions about it. As an aside, Elinoff also worked with Bryant during that case and uncovered a lot of stuff. There does seem to be an ongoing trend, sadly.

Oh, the list is very long and I fear no one has really tried to maintain even a crude list. There are the well-known [Karen Silkwood to Hastings and so many others], and the unknown. I personally know of someone working on research on a highly sensitive topic of state crimes against democracy in the USA who had a near fatal wreck due to brake failure. When he brought his car to be repaired the mechanic noticed a brake fluid leak and they left it at that...but when he returned to pick up the fixed car the mechanic showed him the brake cylinder and line and pointed out that a mechanically drilled ultra-fine hole had purposely been drilled into it and likely filled with wax, that would melt when the brake fluid heated up. Nice stuff they teach the dirty little boys with their black ops toys. Then there are plane 'accident/crashes', heart attacks, cancer, 'falls' from high places, 'suicides', 'accidental shootings', 'overdoses', and a literal catalog of other means to get rid of stones in their shoes and make it look like a chance event. Of course, some events are just chance occurrences, but no one will convince me that progressive activists and investigative researchers et al. are more prone than the average person to them.
