The BBC is Irredeemable
#11
James Ruby Wrote:I suppose I am slightly unusual, insofar as having never owned a TV, and consequently never having paid a penny to the BBC (increasingly a badge of honour). I can only really speak about Radio 4. Take the 'flagship' 'Today' programme: its decline into convulsions of banality is disturbing (and I go back to Jack de Manio, as I'm sure does DG...).

I have a Hancockian vision of hell:

I get stuck in a lift at Broadcasting House with Laura Kuenssberg and Melanie Phillips...

I haven't listened to Radio 4 for years now. It's basically the audio version of the Daily Mail, especially Today.

I agree that the BBC is now worthless as a neutral news organisation but I too would baulk at anything that leaves Murdoch, Dacre and Richard Desmond as the only news providers in this country.

The Tories (especially this current bunch of inbreds) rail against anything that dares oppose them. The recent defeat of Osborne's tax credit cuts in the Lords is evidence of this.
