Hi all,
You may be interested to know that the February 2009 issue of Sojourner magazine has an article about Obama and James W. Douglass's book, "JFK and the Unspeakable."
The article is called "Tackling the Unspeakable," and it can be found here:

There is an accompanying video interview with Jim, at this URL:

Thanks John.
My personal position is that Obama needs first to deal with the forces that placed him in power to do what is right -- and since I very much doubt he has the stomach or, indeed, the inclination to do that, he'll have to leave tackling the "Unspeakable" for another day. :alberteinstein:
But hey, I should give Obama a chance, right...

Jim Douglas makes clear that the Kennedy family sees in Obama the spark of humanity that caused JFK to "turn" toward peace. In reading Obama's book "Dreams from My Father" I am seeing this as well. Not that I believe he will travel JFK's path to its ultimate end but I hold out hope that he will attempt to right some of the grave wrongs of the last eight years.
Given the sorry state of the economic mess he is inheriting his time will be consumed, at length, with this. Voting for the bank theft was certainly a very bad precedent. So David you may be entirely correct.

Letter to President-Elect Barack Obama

1/14/2009
Dear President-Elect Obama,
As quoted in Mr. Michael R. Trioglia's letter to Representative Nancy Pelosi,
We need to take the advice from former President John F. Kennedy who said,” Let us not seek the Republican or the Democratic answer , but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blamefor the past. Let us accept our responsibility for the future.”
I wish to emphasize the words, "but the right answer," in my comments. In this spirit I ask that the death of President Kennedy be opened to a new and honest investigation and hearings before the American people. As there is the call to not bring up the past to blame, there is a greater need for the Truth to be brought out, because the past Truths cannot and will not be buried until the American people are told how and why our beloved President was murdered.
I speak from personal knowledge and experience of having been told of the impending assassination of the President seven months before it happened by a Jose A. Rivera, a Civil Service employee of the National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Blindness of the National Institutes of Health. He was also a former US Army Colonel and member of the US Army Reserves. This information was given to US Secret Service Agent John W. Rice, in the presence of FBI Special Liaison Agent Orrin Bartlett in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday, November 24, 1963. Mr. Bartlett was a liaison between the FBI, the Secret Service , and the White House. Mr. Bartlett called his Headquarters in Washington and the Baltimore Office of the FBI, asking that Mr. Rivera be brought in for Interrogation.
Letters to various Congressional Committees produced no interest or results, as did numerous Freedom of Information letters to the Secret Service, the FBI and the CIA. I testified before the Assassination Records Review Board (ARRB) in Dallas in 1994. Records of mine and Rivera's are in the NARA II Collection of Kennedy Documents in Box 18 of the Douglas Horne (ARRB staff member) Section. In the interest of transparency and the spirit of change and Truth, I now plead that this issue be addressed, and soon, for the sake of all Americans and our future generations.
Most Respectfully,
Adele E. U. Edisen, Ph.D.

Adele, Brava for your letter!! Do send copies to various progressive media outlets, progressive groups and the FEW progressives in Congress, as well; and other Forums you participate in. In the end, as much as I have joined in the preemtive Obama-bashing it will be [ONLY] US - the progressive and alert and active U.S. Citizens pushing Obama and his team - whoever they are, whatever their obvious flaws. It was with JFK too to some extent. Yes, he changed on his own, but he saw the Civil Rights movement and the budding Anti-Vietnam one, etc. He had the 'right moral stuff' to make that change and we can only HOPE that Obama does too - time will very soon tell! Unless we push and push as though our lives depended on it [they do, I fear!] he will be subsummed by the 'Unpeakable', by the 'Borg', by the 'Machine', by the Deep Political Octopus so visably surrounding and devouring him before he is even one day in office. I applaud your letter Adele. The rest of us also need to take action and repeated and powerful action - individual and group action - until WE, THE SOVEREIGN, prevail. America is crumbling fast, along with the economy and national morality. This may well be our last hope [this Admin.]. It is NOT my first choice - but it is the hand we've been dealt. Now, fellow clever thinkers and feelers; knowers of the Truth - and seekers of more of it - let us play our hand to WIN!!! Adele has led the way. Lets get the files released; a Grand Jury empaneled; the wars stopped, the guilty (of the MANY crimes from Dallas to today!) see a courtroom and jury; roll-back the draconian legislation; get back our stolen rights; and so on!.........Much to do, little time, a weak 'hand', but strong wills - and truth, justice and history on OUR side!~And there are more of us!

Yes Adele, Bravo!
Even an old cynic like me wishes you success while doubting it will happen (nothing like covering all the bases, eh )

What do you mean "The forces that placed him in power"? The people put him in power, and they helped him by funding his grass roots campaign giving him more finances to play with during the election than any previous would-be president before. He kept telling the world about how proud he was of these grass roots people and their grass roots belief in his gras.....
Yeah, I don't buy it either. Too perfect. The MSM have lifted him upon a pedestal reserved for the gods. It reminds me of when Blair got in. That honeymoon period was great, Blair wasn't but thats not the point, he could have declared a dictatorship once major moved out of Downing street and the people would have cheered at first. Obama comes out of nowhere to become a senator, then writes a book called The Audacity of Hope, and then runs for President gaining record amounts of campaign funds all in small donations so they don't have to be declared.
I hope I'm wrong, but this story just seems like a rocky movie or something. I can't shift this feeling that he's been deliberately groomed for this. Wow, I really am paranoid.
Found this for ya'll: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08279/917245-373.stm (but it may have been written by McCain)

You'll find that he is the rent boy of the Trilateralists...
In other words "business as usual".

Peter,
Oh, Boy, if that isn't a prod to act. Despite Obama's "centrism" and support from some rich folks, there is something to be said for the "Power of the People."
Just as the thousands and the millions, who marched, wrote, and demonstrated on behalf of Civil Rights in the '50s and '60s when success was so elusive, managed to influence Congress to pass the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act, followed by other laws and Supreme Court decisions. Today such a massive letter-writing, e-mailing, telephoning campaign and movement could overcome the inertia of a sluggish administration and Congress to open remaining files and to re-investigate the John F. Kennedy assassination and other political assassinations.
The American people should not have to live with the untruths and lies and evasions of our political past. Our future generations deserve better than that.
Anyone who is so inclined has my permission to reprint my letter and send it to their local newspaper or news media outlet. I also urge anyone who so wishes to write their own letters to President Obama and their own legislators in the US House and Senate, requesting release of withheld files and honest hearings before the American people.
Adele
