I often wonder whether or not we remember 11/22/'63, or just read about it. I am sure Mr Drago remembers it, as do I. I mostly recall the radio broadcast over the high school intercom and the announcement about the shooting, and then "waiting" for the "death announcement", as if the result was somehow expected. Not wished for, but expected. Yes, I remember.

Let out of grade school early with the direction that we should "say a prayer."

But the word spread through the Veazie Street School building, and I hurried home to find my mother, recovering from major surgery, crying on the couch.

In the work I've seen by George Michael Evica, and that of Gil Jesus, we see the impossibility that Lee Oswald ordered, paid for, received, stored, practiced with, transported, used, concealed the alleged weapon

Or the pistol with the bent pin able to fire revolver and auto shells

Or posed with both on the cover of Look

Or was present by Tippit's car talking to the officer through the closed window

Or fired the transmogrified mass at the General, leaving after splitting into two liquid plasma terminators in two escape devices

Such was the superhuman Marvel super hero or DC Avenger

That he could be on the stair but invisible to the girls

Make it to the patrol car through a space-time wormhole

Cause a bullet to penetrate a decuperational woody obstruction and navigate dronelike through a baker's half-dozen wounds inviolate

Shoot the president in the throat from the front from the back

Juggle three wallets

Appear with Ferrie, Shaw, Banister without their knowledge

Utilize 544 Camp Street without being seen by its occupants

Cause Minox cameras to disappear and evidence to reappear in the Paine Dr. Who Phone Kiosk

Manipulate his file and persona vis a vis security stops and multiple holographic likenesses

Be observed in more places than the Scarlet Pimpernell

Speak for two days without leaving a transcribed or taped word from interrogation

And who disguised as Pat C. Oswald mild mannered defector for a large supranational chimera

fights a never-ending battle for the truth, the justice, which the American way has obstructed for at least the preceding century

The Hundred Years War of the Federal Game Preserve

Humans the ultimate prey

Happened to be home from grade school. My Pop called home on his lunch hour with news. I thought he was joking for a fraction of a second before I handed the phone to my Mom.

The TV was switched on and the unending weekend started. The initial shock was much more than the oft compared "Challenger" mishap to me.
A more profound loss.

Mr. Johnson's English class was derailed from the normal banter by the voice of Ralph Clevenger former basketball coach now principal.

The aluminum cake pan intercom high on the block wall over the chalk board came alive with his gravelly voice.

"The president has been shot. Stand by for more information."

We were a-buzz, some of us; some were silent with our thoughts. I don't recall saying anything, only staring at the intercom--it never spoke.

"We have just received news the president has died. The buses will be at the entrance to take you home for the weekend."

And so we poured into the corridors, the four thousand of us chattering and clattering with friends and lockers, descending to the curb lined with buses.

Home for the television, staring and watching, the replays of speculation, the first glimpse of 24-hour news filling every moment with meaningless comments.

Finally Sunday and we'd have a look--BANG

In retrospect, and with the aid of the many, many replays, it was Honk, Honk, BANG

The funeral with the riderless horse--it was so nervous

Let us continue, Johnson would lie

No, it was a shadowy instruction that we would not continue

Nothing he did would continue, but we couldn't know that then

Kierkegaard was driving; Bob Dylan saying Don't Look Back

There will be time enough for that

The first shock was the deepest. Even the wait to know what happened went on a long time to me, but the news was expected by then.

I recall being a Perry Mason 'educated' kid and asking why LHO didn't have a lawyer on Saturday. No one could answer that except to say he would get one before long. That sounded right to me.

Sunday's murder was more of a surprise than a shock. The shock came later when I could think of implications. A "friend" of the DPD cops did this?! No trial?
:jawdrop:

The stink of something rotten in the beltway did begin that Sunday for me.

We lived near Oxon Hill Maryland, 15 minutes from the White House. My dad no longer worked there after Eisenhower, but we were very close by for other reasons. I was
attending St. Columba Catholic School and was in first grade at the time. My teacher, Sister Mary Anne Xavier, a behemoth of a woman, who had never showed any emotion
to my knowledge was teaching something to us. The principal came to the door and opened it. She was white as a ghost--not normally--just then. She called the teacher over
and whispered something in her ear at which time our teacher's knees nearly buckled. A group of us were herded off to an underground shelter very quickly with the sounds of
the rosary being recited by the nuns who wore the oversized beads like a rope around their waists. We prayed for a time until we were picked up by parents or by military
personnel. The phone system was out. By the time my mother came to get me and my sister, she was quite anxious because she could not reach the school by phone and was
unsure of where we were being taken.

Washington D.C. was the worst city in the world that weekend with the possible exception of Dallas. It was the most solemn, depressing, gloomy, place I have ever seen to this
day. Grown men and women crying--sometimes sobbing--uncontrollably in the streets. There was a look in everyone's eyes that, now as an adult, I recognize as similar to the
look in the eyes of those who have been through great trauma, such as, survivors of Treblinka, Bergen-Belsen, or Auschwitz. Utter despair.

We walked around JFK's flag draped casket in the Capitol and attended the funeral on Monday. It's like it was just yesterday ... still.

Lauren Johnson Wrote:MH,

Take your bullshit and leave. You fit the pattern. You just might be convinced if someone were just open to reasoned debate. But sadly, no one here will be reasonable.

You are like someone who walks into a convention of evolutionary biologists and want to debate creationism, which you are almost ready to accept but not quite yet. You just need a little help to be persuaded not to accept it.

"You" just keep showing up.

Thanks Lauren . You're right , I should go - it'd be way too hard for me to match the intellectual nature of your commentsSmile .

The deception would have had a short shelf life: Your embrace of the LN lie would have seeped out of you like pus from an infected wound.

Marcus Hanson Wrote:You imply - nay , you STATE - that I am "cognitively impaired".

Not true. I left open the possibilities that you do not enjoy reasonable access to the legitimate evidence in the JFK case and/or that you are complicit in the crime.

I am now prepared to stipulate that, to the best of my ability to judge, you do indeed enjoy access to legitimate evidence in the JFK case.

Marcus Hanson Wrote:[/COLOR]You state : "The Lone Nut lie will not be debated or otherwise entertained on Deep Politics Forum".

That is hardly consistent with the "free speech" clause in the Rules of Engagement , is it ?

It is damnably consistent with DPF's policy of not engaging proponents of the LN lie. Rather, our missions are to expose and ridicule them for what they are. Your LN position is not worthy of serious consideration. It is a long-exposed deception, and you will not be allowed to imply, let alone directly state, that it is anything but a lie.

There is no place for you here, Mr. Hanson. You have failed in your mission.

Go away, please.

What was it Henry Ford said ? Something about you can have any colour , as long as it's black ? Here , it's you can have any opinion - as long as you don't attack Oswald.

Sorry it took me so long to reply , but I see there's been some developments since then. How's all that petty political in-fighting going between you and certain other DPF-ers ?
