Nazis and how did dinosaurs get miles under the earth.

Interesting.

How did dinosaurs get miles under the earth?

The Bakken formation in North Dakota, Montana and Canada now is estimated to hold up to 4.3 billion barrels of recoverable oil, only it's available primarily when the price of oil is above a bargain rate as the oil is located miles deep and drilling costs are substantial.
So a new book about oil, "The Great Oil Conspiracy: How the U.S. Government Hid the Nazi Discovery of Abiotic Oil from the American People" by New York Times bestselling author Dr. Jerome Corsi, asks how did the dinosaurs that died and became part of those "fossil fuels" get to be tens of thousands of feet under the surface?
That's just one of the many questions addressed in the book that takes many traditional beliefs about oil it's finite, it's made through the process of various life forms dying and decaying, and others and explains that they are just wrong.
How do we know? From government documents.
Corsi explains that at the end of World War II, U.S. intelligence agents confiscated thousands of Nazi documents on what was known as the "Fischer-Tropsch Process" a series of equations developed by German chemists unlocking the secrets of how oil is formed.
He reports when the Nazis took power, Germany had resolved to develop enough synthetic oil to wage war successfully, even without abundant national oil reserves.
After the war, while the Russians saw through the technical equations and realized that the process for "making" synthetic oil is the same process that nature uses to make oil deep inside the earth, U.S. scientists buried the documents and hid them from the public.
For decades, those confiscated German documents remained largely ignored in a United States where petro-geologists and petro-chemists were convinced that oil was a "fossil fuel" created by ancient decaying biological debris.

Not without reason, Corsi explains, since big U.S. oil companies had no financial interest in explaining to the American people that oil was a natural product made on a continual basis deep within the earth. If there were only so many fossils in geological time, there could only be so much oil. Big oil could then charge more for a finite, rapidly disappearing resource than for a natural, renewable, and probably inexhaustible one, he writes.
Corsi took to the airwaves last night, on Coast to Coast AM, which airs on more than 560 stations in the U.S. as well as others in Canada, Mexico and Guam, to explain the evidence he has uncovered.
His interview has been posted on the show's website.
For example, the Bakken Formation, which was found in the 1980s and 1990s, initially was thought to have only a minor quantity of oil between layers of shale and sandstone.
"The U.S. Geological Survey estimated in 1995 that the Bakken Formation had only about 151 million barrels of recoverable oil," Corsi reports. "Then, with advances in drilling technology, the U.S. Geological Survey reassessed the quantity… A USGS assessment released in April 2008 concluded the Bakken Formation may have an estimated 3.0 to 4.3 billion barrels of technically recoverable oil…"
The issue, he said, is not that the National Archives in Washington contain documentation on the Nazi Fischer-Tropsch process for making synthetic oil from coal, as well as suggestions that oil, in fact, is a renewing resource that could power the world far into coming generations, but that the U.S government has known about the information for years, and has kept it concealed.
"The … conspiracy' at the heart of the book is not that the Nazis learned how to make synthetic fuel, but that the Fischer-Tropsch equations (that the Nazis developed to produce synthetic oil) unlocked the secret of abiotic oil and explain how the earth produces oil naturally, without organic material, at deep earth levels on a basis that is continuous, even today," Corsi said.
"The Nazis understood that oil is a renewable resource, and the U.S. government and Big Oil hid that from the U.S. public fostering on an uneducated U.S. population the idea that oil is fossil fuel that eventually will be gone the peak oil' theory," he said.
A series of recordings of Dr. Corsi's interview with George Noory:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
There wasn't an entirely unanimous opinion about the process and its benefits after World War II. A secretary of commerce in 1950 wrote to the U.S. Attorney General advocating for the admission to the U.S. of a scientist who had worked on the process.
"The Fischer-Tropsch process for the production of synthetic fuels, in which [Leonard] Alberts is expert, may be a significant item in our national defense," the official wrote then.
"Normally it would appear that the significance of the Fischer-Tropsch development to our economy would be adequate to request a careful consideration of Mr. Alberts' application for immigration, based on facts furnished herewith," the commerce secretary wrote. "The critical national situation would seem to reinforce this request. Synthetic fuels are vital to military operations, also Mr. Alberts' fund of information would seem to make it more desirable for him to stay in this country…"

That argument, however, was not persuasive enough to convince the U.S. to take the German work and build on it immediately.
"Rather than study the Fischer-Tropsch equations to unravel the code of how hydrocarbons are produced, U.S. petro-scientists and petro-geologists remain happy … to [consign] the Nazi documents to obscurity because they consider synthetic oil production basically a waste of time," Corsi said.
Corsi also cites the work of author Thomas Gold, who wrote "The Deep Hot Biosphere: The Myth of Fossil Fuels," and noted the idea received additional confirmation when Gold reported that a spacecraft landed on Titan, a giant moon of Saturn, and found "abundant methane."
"We have determined that Titan's methane is not of biological origin, so it must be replenished by geological processes…," wrote Dr. Hasso Niehmann of the Goddard Space Flight Center.
So what are the geological processes?
"If Peak Oil theories are right, why do we have more worldwide oil reserves today than every before?" Corsi's book asks.
He notes the Department of Energy and others assessed in 1980 the worldwide proven oil reserves were about 645 billion barrels; but by 2005 that was 1.28 trillion barrels.
Corsi explains simply that when hydrogen and carbon are added to coal, with various catalysts under intense pressure and heat, hydrocarbons are produced.
That's simply what the mantle of the Earth does, he said.
He said it doesn't take dead plants or animals, dinosaurs, plankton, algae or former living matter to produce oil, and the Nazis understood this.
"Today Nazi synthetic oil secrets remain hidden from the public view because that's exactly the way U.S. oil companies and the U.S. government want it," Corsi wrote. "The true secret of Nazi synthetic oil had nothing to do with liquefying coal."
"Committed Nazis … might have been quietly pleased when American scientists saw nothing more in the Fischer-Tropsch process than how to make gasoline and diesel fuel out of coal."
The controversy is heating up, too. It was in 2011 when Goldman Sachs "issued a report predicting the United States will be the world's largest oil producing country by 2017," Corsi wrote. "The report was a shock to peak oil believers … who had been conditioned to expect that the United States would have completely depleted all available oil resources by the third decade of the 21st century…"
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.

The book seems to me very sensationalist, exagerated and misleading. While it is true that the Fischer-Tropsch process can produce synthetic liquid oil from other materials (like coal, natural gas or biomass), these materials (except biomass) are still finite resources. You don't need dinosaurs, but you still need organic material to convert into oil. And as long as this organic material comes from the crust of the earth and the resulting fuel is being burnt up, CO2 levels in the atmosphere will rise. Fuel from biomass has the problem that to produce the biomass, resources will have to be used that could otherwise be used to produce food. Still in the long term this would be the only way to have really renewable fuel.
The most relevant literature regarding what happened since September 11, 2001 is George Orwell's "1984".

I'm sorry, but this is such nonsense. If it's true, then why was Hitler so determined to capture the oil fields of the USSR and elsewhere (with his long-term sights set on the Middle East)? The Germans did learn how to convert coal (which they had plenty of) into synthetic oil and gasoline, but it was an expensive, energy-intensive process that couldn't satisfy their long-term energy needs.

And why didn't they share this secret with their Japanese allies, who had even bigger problems with their oil supply?

The Bakken formation is not light, sweet crude oil, it's shale, which is basically oil that has hardened and is imbedded in rock. It's a nasty, polluting process recovering it. Like the tar sands of Canada, they would not be going after such awful crap if the old crude oil fields of Texas, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and California were refilling with abiotic oil (which they aren't). The Anglo-American powers wouldn't be trying to dominate the Middle East and other oil-producing nations if it was true. They wouldn't be trying to reach shale gas and oil with these poisonous fracking wells. Huge amounts of fresh water have to be contaminated to recover all of these types of energy.

"If Peak Oil theories are right, why do we have more worldwide oil reserves today than every before?" Corsi's book asks. Because Corsi doesn't understand that they're lumping shale, tar sands and other unconventional fossil fuels into the total.

I have heard him discuss this matter on c2c and it makes a lot of sense to me. Will listen to the links provided after court.

We don't know what removing oil layers that have been there forever will do to the planet.

I remember Col Fletcher Prouty had some theory along these lines too. Its in some of his writings. I don't know how valid the theory is but I suspect it was just another avenue for the big oil crowd to milk more money. Either from the extracted oil or the equipment to extract and refine it. Anyway oil is finished and there are plenty of alternatives but much less profits so no corporate will to develop.

The process of creating hydrocarbons is far faster from biotic processes than abiotic because carbon-based life forms tend to concentrate the carbon and hydrogen needed. Any carbon and hydrogen will work. If you have the time and the money you can cook fuel from compost, pig shit, turkey feathers, etc. or any other biological waste.

The problem is cost. It is far cheaper to drain the HC that have been produced for millions of years by natural processes (or either biotic or abiotic type) than to cook your own. That will change when the easy-to-get-to hydrocarbons are gone. No matter what sources you lump in with the petrochemicals, someday it will be gone.

Methane will be the fundamental building block of interstellar exploration and terraforming, if we ever get there. You can make fuel, water, air, etc. from methane. You should invest in the ground floor of extra-planetary methane mining, should you be fortunate enough to live that long.
