The neo-conservatives are largely champions of the Zionist enterprise, which seems to continue on today in the ME. If the neo-cons have taken over, does this mean that they are now the inheritors of the Anglo-American empire? Some would now label it the Anglo-Zionist empire. There seems to be something profound in 9/11 that goes beyond the word Neo-conservatism. But I confess have not been able to wrap my mind around it.
I read a couple of Drury's books back in the day. They are tough sledding. She's brilliant. She claims that she was anonymously sent a stuffed owl (the Owl of Minerva) congratulating her on being the only person to figure out the convoluted writings of Leo Strauss. Presumably, it came as a present from one of the inner Straussian adepts.
