I'm an applied mathematician, but I work in a computer science lab [at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire]. My primary research area is developing computational and mathematical techniques to detect tampering in digital media.
Most of my funding comes from law enforcement: I have a grant from the FBI. As well as doing research, I am often approached by people and organizations to help to authenticate digital media so I've become something of a digital detective. ....

I'll shorten it even further .... right winger from the Rove-Abramoff squad rinses Hani Farid in a $22 million Dartmouth chair washing machine, money from law enforcement and FBI pours into Farid's research account, and out comes a science supported determination that the BYP are as the WC Report informed our grandparents.
Did I miss anything? It is one thing to present to an annual Lancer Conference Audience, and quite another to present to the American public.

...The current chair of Preston Gates Ellis is Bill Neukom, chair of the Board of Trustees at Dartmouth. While Mr. Abramoff's tenure at Preston Gates Ellis did not overlap with Mr. Neukom's time there, I think it would behoove Mr. Neukom and the leadership of the firm to do a thorough internal investigation of Mr. Abramoff's work there. The firm has denied knowledge of any misdeeds, but has also been unable to produce any substantial records related to Mr. Abramoff. I certainly do not hold Bill Neukom accountable for any illegal activity that occurred before he rejoined Preston Gates Ellis in 2002. However, as the chair of the firm, and as a well-respected public figure, I feel Mr. Neukom's proactive and honest evaluation of this situation is in the best interest of the public.

BROKERAGE EXECUTIVE, 73 Samuel M.V. Hamilton, 73, a senior vice president at Janney Montgomery Scott, died of cancer Sunday at his home in Wayne.
Mr. Hamilton, also executive director of 218 Enterprises and an owner of Samuels, a restaurant in Spread Eagle Village, was a partner in Montgomery Scott & Co. for many years before the firm merged with Janney, Battles & E.W. Clark in 1971.
