Double Hijack of "Arctic Sea" (ongoing)
#33
yes, if Russia wanted to ship something to Iran, they would. Sending something via a shipment of lumber from the Baltic doesn't make sense. One of the reports above mentioned "illegal weapons" which is a meaningless phrase if you think about it, unless they meant controlled nuclear technology or material.

the cover stories of the russian hijackers are so amateur that it doesn't look like they're FSB or Mossad, unless they're trying to appear fumbling.

the fire inspector at the Finnish port had some tip there was nuclear material aboard, most likely.

my speculation concerns the question, did the Israelis want to stop something, or did they lose something they want back?

I see two possibilities.

1) this was staged by enemies of Russia to make them play along and realize the danger of Russian mafia shipments of nuclear material to Iran

2) this was staged by Russian counter-intelligence to test for a leak of information to NATO and/or Israel

it's also possible that things went horribly wrong, that false information about weapons on the ship reached mafia in the Baltic states who staged an ad hoc high-jacking for profit, or that weapons were aboard, were delivered (to Cabo Verde?!?) and everything else was cover for that.

Mossad, NATO or FSB could recruit Baltic Russian mafia and all of the hijackers seem to be Russians from Estonia and Latvia, some "stateless" because of Latvia and Estonia's policies regarding Russian "illegal aliens" from 1945 to 1991. In Russia, as I have it, prisoners and mafia wear special tattoos, but so do military people.

Another possibility is that foreign intelligence services developed false information on weapons on board, other nations' services took action and came up empty-handed, but angered Russia to the extent two high-ranking Israeli politicos flew to Moscow to smooth things over as best they could, NATO offered sat data (which Russia has anyway) and recon in order to show a new era of cooperation etc etc.
