It may sound like a theory of mime regarding my father's involvement in the murder of Duke, but after reading my father's letters over and over, his words begin to sink in, and I understand what my father is saying. Why he opened up to Liebengood about Duke may be his conscience of needing to do so.
Reading his letters that connect his thoughts and his conversations with Liebengood, researching Duke seemed like the right thing to do. I think it's safe to say that what my father was trying to express, is the fact that Duke's murder has been solved, however, it's a little too late to question my father.
In one of his letters he says;
"I met more and more Cubans and got involved in their problems more and more and as I did I understand that to help them in their fight in Cuba would help cut off the head of the snake who is biting us. Who is poisoning our sanity with drugs and drugs lead to pimps and prostitution. The streets in the United States today are a good example, our public parks our young generation. Thank God not all of it, but it is a start that has to be stopped in my mind."
