Chaos theorists
#1
I saw this copy-and-paste comment recently on YouTube. This seems to be a popular idea with some internet trolls, and it may be sincerely believed by others who imagine themselves to be enlightened because they read a psychology text or two. Also, does anyone else find it fascinating how John Wilkes Booth went from being part of an official conspiracy (co-conspirators who were hanged and imprisoned; the Feds also pointed fingers at Confederate leaders) to being a deranged lone nut looking for fame and glory? And this happened right around the time of the JFK assassination.

REASONS FOR BELIEVING CONSPIRACY THEORIES.The people who believe that secret, sinister groups give orders to our Kings, Presidents and Prime Ministers, and that EVERYTHING which occurs only does so after permission has been granted by some James Bond villain type of Billionaire oligarch. To imagine that our societies (and lives) are controlled by some secret society, made up of unelected and totally unaccountable members, is frightening. BUT not as frightening as the alternative. Chaos. The totally random and uncontrollable actions of men such as Lee Harvey Oswald, Anders Behring Breivik or John Wilkes Booth. Virtually powerless men who shock the World and cause the direction of history to make a sudden detour onto a completely new, and unexpected path. The idea of the secret society controlling our communities, streets and elected leaders, like their puppets, despite being the opposite of democratic, still involves one of the most comforting aspects for certain types of people.CONTROL.These people (the one's who tend to believe in Conspiracies) have a subconscious need to feel that EVERYTHING which happens has been planned and is CONTROLLED by the unseen powers which decide and control everything. EVERY action and reaction, every event and counter-event, is CONTROLLED.And no matter how sinister or evil are the secret rulers they are still better than reality - chaos. The idea that one irrelevant little man, using an inexpensive piece of equipment - which is available to anyone, could change the President of the USA........ CHAOS.Conspiracy theorists are terrified of the parts of life governed by random chance (pure dumb luck).
