Eurasia: A Geo-political re-alignment
Lauren Johnson Wrote:
Quote:Also not discussed - which I think any serious study must discuss in as great detail as possible - was the underlying occult footing of the Elizabethan period, because it strikes me as being the never discussed and unknown "secret engine" that historically drove and almost certainly still drives the Anglo-American camp.

I am reminded of an analysis of the Israeli Supreme Court in Vigilant Citizen which is loaded with occult symbolism. Can't place it now but I recall something about occultism being imported by Venetian banking clans northward and ultimately coming to rest in the UK. The term Anglo-Zionist empire might suggest a very deep and occult connection.

David, I do recall you saying that all occult symbolism starts with the Qaballah.

Yep, the Qabalah is the bedrock of all western occult systems these days, Lauren. It also has many levels of understanding. My experience is that most focus on the intellectual aspects of it - and it can take a lifetime dwelling on that. But it's real strength is its far deeper nature where is becomes a roadmap of the Unconscious, allowing safe and secure navigation in those vast realms for those who know how to access them. Travelling there will always have an impact on the psychology of the traveller - albeit sometime after the event and often mild (but not always so).

My own view is that the Qabalah arrived in Europe via the Holy Wars and quite probably were the "treasure" brought home by the Templar Knights (not to mention the Jewish diaspora in Spain) in the 1100's (and, of course the traditional story of 9 knights guarding pilgrims visiting the Holy Land is sheer nonsense). There are a number of indications about this, but one important one revolves around the "decorations" in stone cut into the great French cathedrals, which is why Fulcanelli's book "The Mystery of the Cathedrals" is such an important book in my view - because it was largely the Templars who financed those decorations. And because the Qabalah possesses a somewhat "plastic" nature it can be adapted to fit in with almost any religious or sacred system - and in the case of the Templars it became the system of Catholic esotericism - but also moved north and was adapted to the belief system there also. Etc.

I have to point out that I'm far from a scholar on this and might have much of this wrong, but I think it is reasonably accurate in general.
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.
