Really good article. I like the way the author shows the social management of threat perception.

I lot of conservative deep political researchers have bought into the "climate change theory is bogus" camp. In my neck of the woods, we depend on melting winter snows and glaciers for water. We are rapidly heading towards rainy winters without the long spring and summer runoffs. Late springs are getting very warm and summers are blistering with fires.

Yesterday I was celebrating a friend's birthday and his family. His son said we're screwed because of climate change. His father said, but we'll invent some technology that will fix it. I just kept my jaded yapper shut. ::face.palm:: His son is right.

EDIT: To complete the idea thread, we are being guided to the acceptance of radical geo-engineering steps as yet to be revealed but no doubt in the works.
