Jan, I think we can safely say that Gunther was falsely elevating his high birth. I had his Esterhazy name checked out by a well known authority on noble houses and there is no such title.
That being the case I also doubt thr Ernst Kaltenbrunner claim.
It's rather like Spiritualists who always claim to be channeling for famous Red Indians, Chinese sea Captains and other wise men and women....
But he was CIA as you know and got up to all sorts of stuff. I asked Chip Tatum if he knew him. He did. They were from the same kennel, I think.
