BTW, something that Kennedy told, I think Sorenson on the eve of the Democratic Convention in 1960, is really kind of ironic. Especially in light of what happened after he was killed.
He said, words to the effect: We have to win this thing. If we don't and either Johnson or Symington gets it, then we might as well have elected Foster Dulles or Nixon as far as foreign policy goes.
Well, considering what happened after 1963, Kennedy was prophetic.
