It has always been my contention that what JFK did in the field of Civil Rights was equally responsible for the anger behind the plot to assassinate him along with his Cuba policy/actions, Vietnam, anger at CIA, secret communications with Khrushchev et al. The thing they hated most was he was rapidly growing in his awareness and actions toward Peace, Justice, Civil Rights, Anti-War and in opposition to the reactionary forces who were opposed to all of these.
