While I am not a fan of the body of William Cooper's overall work, his shortwave broadcast on 9-11 I saw the Peter Dale Scott article that David posted later mentioning John Yoo and an interesting fact I believe might be relevant to this thread as a corollary. From Christopher Simpson's most recent edition of 'Blowback' and I have confirmed with several other NARA scholars who worked on the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act mention that the Bush administration also attempted to set him up on the committee overseeing the process. This of course eventually got derailed by several of academics on board and eventually resulted in a significant number of them resigning or having other academics who were not as stringent the originals.
