Barack Obama has won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize????

In reply to a comment of mine on Craig Murray's blog, it was suggested that hilarity was a more appropriate response to this award. I would agree whole-heartedly were it not for the gravity of the Orwellian Milieu it illustrates.

We are about to be treated to a blizzard of pseudo-analytical drivel from the MSM parroting the likes of NATO's Rasmussen per the title of this post based on his "statement following the award":

I warmly congratulate President Obama on winning the Nobel Peace Prize. As the Nobel Committee said, President Obama has made extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.
He has also demonstrated his strong commitment to help build peace and defend fundamental human rights, including through the Atlantic Alliance. This honour is well deserved.

I try hard to summon up humour (especially satire) which is one way of dealing with the grossly Orwellian world we now inhabit, but when you have young grandchildren, it is simply impossible to ignore dark forebodings about the world they are inheriting.
