The Road to 9-11 by P D Scott and the stuff on the anthrax attacks, which can be found on Wikipedia.

James, Scott's AMERICAN DEEP STATE goes a bit deeper, appropriately enough. It's a good book.

And if you ever get time, Graeme MacQueen's book on the anthrax attacks is one of the best 9/11 volumes to date. Wikipedia doesn't come close on the subject. Grab the Kindle edition if you want to save some bucks.

I suspect you won't be seeing too many more deep politics books on 9/11 for the next year or two, but a bunch will come out immediately after that. I suspect some writers are holding their horses for the 20th anniversary, which will swing the pendulum of media coverage back onto the topic in a big way.
