I was an avid Crumb fan during a certain time in my 20s. I had the chance to finally meet the man briefly when he was here in Central Europe. He now lives in France. He was both what I expected and different than expected. I believe his public talks here are still on the internet. He mentioned about his illustrated Old Testament. Meeting his wife was also interesting. He and I once had a mutual friend for whom he had done LP album cover art and cards of jazz musicians for Yazoo and Blue Goose. Mr. Natural he was not exactly, but one could see how this came out of his strange mind.....
