3. We first need to know who was responsible for what; and what the real motives & objectives of the books, conferences et al really were. It is by no means clear that all that has dissented was truly dissent. Non-specific paranoia is an instrument of the right. Documented and focused anger is the right's enemy.
4. There are three types of conspiracy theorist: those deployed by the state's instruments to discredit the very alternatives they ostensibly espouse; genuine nutters; and interested amateurs with important insights and verities to offer. Only the first two are foregrounded by the mainstream media. Happily, the latter is on the way out. Less happily, the spooks are well-established in the blog- and forum-sphere.
