They should be in the custody of an attorney IMO. Having them retained in an archive doesn't make much sense if the legal rights of the clients are to be protected. Or if the clients might actually need to use the papers in a legal case.
Since Bloomfield was a very active lawyer, his case files must have been turned over to a law firm when he closed his practice or when he died. The remaining papers should IMO follow that same path.
Please keep us informed on this site if and when these files become available on searchable or printable media.

Bloomfield's letters will be available for researchers for review by January 11 but they will not be digitized. Researchers wanting to look at his files will have to visit the archives and review them there.
