I don't believe anyone did actual photogrammetry on the images to determine actual distances....
Problem too is we don't know the angle the rifle is to-from the lens....(is butt or muzzle closer to camera?)
The rifle is a Fucile Corto just don't know if it's 6.5 or 7.35mm... I think it likely the BYP rifle was left in the TSBD as they needed shells that matched the rifle as well as bullets... so that rifle had to be in the hands of the mechanics at some point...
