Chile moves to the Right
#4
There are two kinds of "leftist" governments in Latin America: the "vegetarian" leftist and the "carnivore".

-"Vegetarian" are the ones like Lula da Silva and Michelle Bachelet, respectful of liberal democracy rules that allow them to be elected presidents, but with governments strongly oriented to social improvments. They don't fight against capitalism. They USE IT just like another tool to archieve their social goals.

RESULTS: Lula and Bachelet are the most popular presidents in Latin America, their economies are growing tremendously, they enjoy social peace, etc.

-"Carnivore" leftist are the one that embrace "revolution", destroy OR corrupt liberal democrat institutions that allow them to be presidents, in the search to gain and keep all the power in their hands (legislative, executive and judiciary. AND the most important: keeping happy the big sword of police and military), they support racial confrontations and create "little money bonuses" to keep people happy; they declare war against capitalism and their representatives -as europeans and yankees- and try to destroy or "nationalize" companies (at least, the capitalist companies that belongs to oppositors, not even touching the ones that belongs to allies), etc., etc.

RESULTS: The capital and private companies flew away leaving unemployment and lowering production, those unemployed (mostly, young and qualified personnel) emigrate to Europe and USA searching ANY job and destroying thousands of families in the process, the "privatized" companies are the nest of corruption and ineficiency (the new employees are designed not by technical qualifications, but political loyalty), the oppositors are accused of any felony they can invent and chased judicially (they control judicial power also) so nobody can control the free disposal of state money; the oppositors are killed NOT by the military or police, but "regular delinquents" (their sons are kidnapped by "regular delinquents" also); the country is in permanent state of confrontation, etc., etc.

They even create a "TROIKA" between them to support each other, payed with venezuelan people's money.

I don't know why chileans vote for Piñera. I don't know why brazilians will vote for brazilian Lula rightist oppositor (maybe because they still CAN..?.)
