Simple really. Change is one of the oldest scenarios known to man:
What we do is this. We all club together our two cents worth and buy the Washington Post outright. Then we get the unexpurgated news out. Then we get sued. So we buy the Supreme Court and law system, with more two cents worth, so that we can protect our collective rear ends from frivolous lawsuits. Then we get fire-bombed by "extremists". So we buy the Fire Department and the Police Department to protect against future "extreme" behaviour, and impress upon our friendly law system and Supreme Court to outlaw fire-bombing. Before you know it, "we"have become the establishment and other people are looking to buy another major newspaper to get the truth out.
Every political cause - from the Chinese Triads through to the IRA - have begun life with the best of intentions --- only to see their "cause" supplanted and molded into its very opposite.
True change requires something more lasting.
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.
