The article Magna mentions and that Mr. Draggo asks about-- I never spoke with that publication; I made no claims at all, and they mis-characterized many things, and attributed quotes to people that said no such things. The 36-hour business came from an actual CIA document that covered a meeting with a Sandoz chemical company official. It was this official that actually stated quite clearly that ergot played no role in the Pont St Esprit incident and that it had been an EXPERIMENT. That and other documents, most of them cited in my book, confirmed my suspicions that the town had been the target of an experiment. Additionally, White House and Rockefeller Commission documents from 1975-76 speak of the same experiment. I was merely reporting on what I had read from all of these sources. I am quite happy that I put a few documents aside for the possible event that somebody needed more proof. One of these documents concerned an FBI report in 1950 whereby the FBI was concerned about NYC being targeted for an LSD experiment-- the Bureau was able to get the Army to postpone this planned experiment. In many ways it is all surreal, then and today. The truth is difficult to reckon with for a lot of folks.
