Very interesting Helen. The Kobe earthquake happened in 1995 resulting in a plunge of the Nikkei index of 7%. The consequence of this, in turn, triggered the collapse of Barings Bank who under "big swinging dick", Nick Leeson, who was engaged in some nifty fraud on behalf of his masters.
AS you say Tesla earthquake causing technology seems to be a distinct possibility in the Icelandic eruption.
