Wasn't Nth Ireland a bit of a proving ground for the British military and their equipment and tactics? The IRA was always a capitalist based group. There may have been socialists in it but ultimately they were no threat to capitalism (unlike INLA not that they ever really stood a chance) No doubt there is a bank account or two in Switzerland with Irish names on them. Like most former colonies they are still owned by others.
