Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Tuesday that the foreign activists aboard the aid boat attacked by Israeli soldiers on Monday would be released within 48 hours. Worldwide protests and criticism aimed at Israel's raid on Gaza aid ships resulted in the delivery of relief supplies as well. Turkey's prime minister expressed outrage, saying, "We see clear murder taking place, and we see an aggressive country." The country is Israel's closest Muslim ally. President Obama expressed his regrets, but also emphasized "the importance of learning all the facts and circumstances around this morning's tragic events as soon as possible." Earlier in the day three people were killed in an Israeli airstrike in one Gaza town, and Egypt will open the crossing between it and Gaza for humanitarian purposes.
