One could argue that the Capitol building was a major (but unrealized target) on 9/11. At any rate, Congress itself has -- certainly in matters of war, foreign policy, accountability over the military/intel complex and its contractors, and more (including the funding of "black ops") -- been made superfluous by the super-empowered executive armed with signing statements, the unlimited power of assassination, and a Teflon-like impenetrable veneer against political criminality and worse, and that it too has been decommissioned by this, recent Supreme Court rulings on unlimited corporate "speech", an apathetic and largeley uninformed electorate, corruption as a standared behavior, a compliant and complicit press which acts as a mouthpiece for the plutocratic fascists, and the almost-untouchable power of the Zionist lobby and influence.
