What an indictment of lawyers, judges and the entire legal system.
I have a law degree, and I was also taught at university not to read the "headnotes", but rather to read the actual judicial statements (ie what each judge actually wrote or said).
The clear implication of Thom Hartmann's investigation is that, for over 100 years, not a single judge, lawyer or law student has actually read the case of Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad, and that it does NOT establish that corporations are legal persons.
Instead, corruption and laziness has ensured that the case has been held to provide corporations with legal protection to which they had absolutely no right.
Meh.
