Murdoch is just too powerful and should have his holdings cut, not increased.
On Sky News this morning, one question raised was (somehting like?) "Is water-boarding legitimate in some cases?
Just framing the question in this way is a disgrace. Water-boarding is torture and torture is outlawed by international law. But Sky News seems to be attempting to slide a different interpretation into being, namely that in some cases it is a legitimate technique.
But just follow the unspoken logic of this line of reasoning: robbery is sometimes legitimate; murder is sometimes legitimate; rape and pillage is sometimes legitimate etc etc. In fact any activity whatsoever classes as illegal can sometimes be legitimate --- it's just a question of who decides when its legal and when its not. Black and white merge into grey.
The whole argument is quite the most sinister tosh of course. But it shows you Murdoch in his comfort zone.

The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.
