I think there are many who do care about this insanity but feel powerless.
Good for my former home state in passing this. Massachusetts has always been ahead of the rest of the county - it was the only state carried by George McGovern in 1972. If decriminalization works there perhaps the rest of the country will catch on. It's criminal that people are being imprisoned for drug use in this day and age. If drugs were legal so much other crime would be abolished. But it's the new plantation. And sadly the black community has fallen for it, generation after generation.
