It is always very scary that the group mind - the egregore - can be so easily manipulated to direct and focus it as desired. This was one of the great powers Hitler had at his command -- and the result was catastrophic as we know.

To my mind anything that is radical/fanatical is unstable and unbalanced and therefore very easy to manipulate.

Stay away from group minds I say.

Example: Have you ever attended a sporting event where tempers flared between players and flowed over to the fans? Some have been quite savage and even fatal. These fans were normal, sane everyday people on their own until they became a mob. Their behavior no longer reflected their own natural state but became part of the larger 'mob rules' mind. I have even witnessed this at childrens events.
