Carsten - yes, I agree. Abbottabad as Guantanamo without the orange jumpsuits or snarling Abu Ghraib dogs....
It feels like the "USA catches and kills Osama Bin Laden" story was a trump card, an Ace in the Hole, available to be played by the American President whenever he was in dire need.
So, this comes down to timing.
The deep political question is: WHY NOW?
The real reason for the timing may take some time to figure out. Certainly accomplished a few things...sent a chilling message to Ghadaffi!
