Does This US And Israel Joint Missile Defense Drill Say Anything About Plans For Iran?
Tags:
Israel just announced it has finalized a deal with Lt. General Frank Gorenc, commander of the US Third Air Force in Germany, that will bring several thousand U.S. troops and two advanced missile systems to the country for an unprecedented defense drill.Yaakov Katz of the Jerusalem Post reports the "largest-ever" missile defense exercise will commence this spring, in response to Iran's nuclear ambitions.
This announcement may well be a psy-ops fakeout, and here is why.
There are already reports of US-NATO troops massing in Jordan on the Syrian border.
According to one Jordanian military officer who asked to remain anonymous, hundreds of soldiers who speak languages other than Arabic were seen during the past two days in those areas moving back and forth in military vehicles between the King Hussein Air Base of al-Mafraq (10 km from the Syrian border), and the vicinity of Jordanian villages adjacent to the Syrian border, such as village Albaej (5 km from the border), the area around the dam of Sarhan, the villages of Zubaydiah and al-Nahdah adjacent to the Syrian border.
NATO is already engaged in conflict in Syria through their Turkish proxy.
NATO is already clandestinely engaged in the Syrian conflict, with Turkey taking the lead as U.S. proxy. Ankara's foreign minister, Ahmet Davitoglu, has openly admitted that his country is prepared to invade as soon as there is agreement among the Western allies to do so. The intervention would be based on humanitarian principles, to defend the civilian population based on the "responsibility to protect" doctrine that was invoked to justify Libya. Turkish sources suggest that intervention would start with creation of a buffer zone along the Turkish-Syrian border and then be expanded. Aleppo, Syria's largest and most cosmopolitan city, would be the crown jewel targeted by liberation forces.
The above article also mentions that "Unmarked NATO warplanes are arriving at Turkish military bases close to Iskenderum on the Syrian border, delivering weapons from the late Muammar Gaddafi's arsenals as well as volunteers from the Libyan Transitional National Council who are experienced in pitting local volunteers against trained soldiers, a skill they acquired confronting Gaddafi's army."
Given all of these developments, coupled with the crescendo of corporate war propaganda against Syria and Iran, it appears to me that a US/NATO action against Syria (which will allow for a "back-door" invasion of Iran, with which it has a mutual defense pact), will not wait until the Spring. You can't keep these forces idle for long; it is too costly, and morale gets hurt when you do that.
I wouldn't bet against some kind of "false flag" attack on US assets during the holidays, to be blamed either on Syria, or Iran, to get this going.
However, to those in the bowels of power in DC and Tel Aviv, I would like to offer the following caveat: Russian leadership is preparing for military conflict over Iran.
The Kremlin is being updated about the upcoming US-backed Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, according to "Nezavisimaya Gazeta", citing sources in the Defense Ministry. Strike will be sudden and inflicted very soon. A full-scale war is possible. This issue was discussed at the Russia-EU summit in Brussels with the participation of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Russia's permanent representative to the EU Vladimir Chizhov stated that the Israeli / the U.S attack on Iran. would lead to "catastrophic development of events." According to the newspaper, the military preparations of Russia to minimize the loss resulting from such a military action against Tehran were launched a year ago and are now almost complete. According to sources in the Defense Ministry, Russian 102nd military base in Armenia was fully optimized during October-November 2011.
Folks, IF this information is true, we may very well be looking at a 3rd World War, the unintended consequences of which may be catastrophic for the entire globe.
