There's all sorts of creepy possibilities with this. For instance the dismembering could have been done to send a message to others and Mr Rogers had nothing to do with it. The greater beasts who perpetrated it could later send a message that Rogers was still alive and hiding in Central America. No, this could be something completely different than what it appears. Rogers, or even his parents, could have been threatening to come clean and expose the conspiracy. He could have been gotten rid of as well and anyone else involved would then have a strong message sent to them in the form of the refrigerator and its gruesome contents. This is a pattern possibly seen again in Roselli.
The concept, gentlemen, is called "overkill". You see it in the head shots taken at Lincoln and Kennedy because the conspirators were politically enraged. You might also see it in the dismemberment of the Rogers, and most definitely Roselli, because the greater actors were being threatened with exposure.
