a small sample:
Chris:
What would you expect from a guy [Obama] who reveres Ronald Reagan?
And I bet you're gonna vote for him anyway, right?
And The Nation is gonna endorse his re-election, too...

Jim Caton:
I too wondered about the 'edited by moderator' tag on Chris's post. I also wonder why a post I made on another article has disappeared, and whether it was removed for criticizing The Nation for limiting itself, and attempting to limit its readers, to the Republican/Democratic paradigm. My third wonder is who wrote the headline to this excellent piece. The question, Which side is the US on?' would seem to be clearly answered by the article. The question seems to convey surprise at the possibility that the US could be on the wrong side, yet the author is too historically aware to express any such surprise. In Honduras, as in the rest of Central America, the US has always been on the wrong side. It is US policy to be on the wrong side, and it is the logical policy given its economic system and electoral laws. The US is not us. The cracked heads and tear gas cannisters on American streets make that plain as day.
