To permit the Viet Nam conflict to expand into a major confrontation leading to a death struggle between the Soviet Union and the United States which would lead to the Rise of The Fourth Reich with America as its operational base to launch future Christian Military Crusades against any other current or future threats from all non-Catholic infidels and heathens who would ever oppose the Pope in Rome, the guardians of the Catholic Church: The Knights of Malta or American foreign investment interests.

This would make a great movie. For example, you could have a scene in a dungeon where slender, boxom, Nazi blond women popping buttons off of their tight Nazi blouses whipping the good guys. Oh wait, that was the plot line of those pulp mags back in the 50's.
