This is really disappointing. I hope he reconsiders even if low budget or passes all the material on to others who can finish it. If funding is the issue has he thought of crowd sourcing? I am quite sure he would be able to raise a good amount of money and there are often people who are prepared to donate in kind with skills etc too.
