Agree 100%. My only point is that presidential sponsorship is not a Mormon function. I would say that Romney as POTUS might well be the selectee because his Mormonism will coincide with their agenda. That, of course, would not be good to say the least.
EDIT: The same way of thinking would apply to GWB. Just because his "conviction" that he was chosen by God does not belie the fact that he was chosen by other forces. I view GWB as a false sponsor.
