Mark Stapleton Wrote:Don Jeffries Wrote:Charles (and Monk) have gone from questioning the validity of Albert Doyle's online persona to directly accusing him of being impersonated by a person or persons unknown. For those of us who don't have the ability to determine such things from examining posts on an internet forum, Charles' emphatic self- confidence about this provides insufficient proof.
Don't you have the capability to track the IP addresses of those who post here? If all of Doyle's posts come from the same one or two addresses, this is a strong indication he is one person, posting probably from home and work. If there are multiple IP addresses, then you've found Thoreau's trout in the milk. Or you could just postulate that a strange cabal is taking turns posting from the same computer.
Why don't you do this and let us know what you discover? Or, you can continue to cryptically refer to "his" mysterious nonexistence, while he conveniently refrains from protesting.
I haven't really noticed the literary inconsistencies Charles points to. I've read quite a lot of Albert's posts now. I don't know why Albert doesn't respond to such an allegation. He must have his reasons.
An avid reader and fan of Piper isn't expected to.
As for "Albert's silence: Perhaps I'm wrong and "he's" giving me just enough rope to hang myself.
If so: The noose is tight, "Albert Doyle." Why not spring the trap?

If an individual, through either his own volition or events over which he had no control, found himself taking up residence in a country undefined by flags or physical borders, he could be assured of one immediate and abiding consequence: He was on his own, and solitude and loneliness would probably be his companions unto the grave.

You can't blame the innocent, they are always guiltless. All you can do is control them or eliminate them. Innocence is a kind of insanity.
